John Kerry And The Obama Adminstration’s Betrayal Of Israel
Whether through ineptitude, malice, or both, Kerry’s intervention was not a case of America’s top diplomat coming to our region to help a key ally. This was a betrayal.
Kerry’s intervention in the Hamas war empowers the Gaza terrorist government bent on destroying Israel
Obama and Company, while verbally support Israel, are in fact plotting at every possible turn to empower their enemies and are working to shift the balance of power to the terrorists. But events that happened this weekend have made Israel stop to realize that John Kerry can in no way be trusted.
It seemed inconceivable that the American secretary of state would have drafted an initiative that, as a priority, did not require the dismantling of Hamas’s rocket arsenal and network of tunnels dug under the Israeli border. Yet the reported text did not address these issues at all, nor call for the demilitarization of Gaza.
It seemed inconceivable that the secretary’s initiative would specify the need to address Hamas’s demands for a lifting of the siege of Gaza, as though Hamas were a legitimate injured party acting in the interests of the people of Gaza — rather than the terror group that violently seized control of the Strip in 2007, diverted Gaza’s resources to its war effort against Israel, and could be relied upon to exploit any lifting of the “siege” in order to import yet more devastating weaponry with which to kill Israelis.
Israel and the US are meant to be allies; the US is meant to be committed to the protection of Israel in this most ruthless of neighborhoods; together, the US and Israel are meant to be trying to marginalize the murderous Islamic extremism that threatens the free world. Yet here was the top US diplomat appearing to accommodate a vicious terrorist organization bent on Israel’s destruction, with a formula that would leave Hamas better equipped to achieve that goal.
The appalled response to the Kerry proposal by the members of the security cabinet on Friday night, however, made plain nothing had gotten lost in translation at all. The secretary’s proposal managed to unite Israel’s disparate group of key political leaders — from Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Liberman on the right, through Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to Yair Lapid and Tzipi Livni on the center-left — in a unanimous response of horrified rejection and leaked castigation.
The Netanyahu government has had no shortage of run-ins with Kerry in the mere 18 months he has held office. The prime minister publicly pleaded with him in November not to sign the interim deal with Iran on its rogue nuclear program, and there has been constant friction between the two governments over thwarting Iran’s bid for the bomb. Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon in January ridiculed Kerry’s security proposals for a West Bank withdrawal, calling the secretary “messianic” and obsessive” in his quest for an accord with the Palestinians that simply wasn’t there. The collapse of the talks in March-April was accompanied by allegations from Jerusalem that Kerry had botched the process, telling Israel one thing and the Palestinian Authority another, including misrepresenting Israel’s position on Palestinian prisoner releases.
But none of those episodes, though deeply troubling and relating to issues central to Israel’s well-being, provoked the kind of outraged disbelief at Kerry’s performance that has been emanating from the Israeli leadership in the past 48 hours. Leaked comments from unnamed senior government sources to Army Radio, Channel 2 and other Hebrew outlets have described the secretary as amateurish, incompetent, incapable of understanding the material he is dealing with — in short, a blithering fool.
But actually, it’s worse than that. What emerges from Kerry’s self-initiated ceasefire mission — Israel had already accepted the Egyptian ceasefire proposal; and nobody asked him to come out on a trip he prefaced with sneering remarks about Israel’s attempted “pinpoint” strikes on Hamas terror targets — is that Jerusalem now regards him as duplicitous and dangerous.
Contrary to his public claim at his press conference in Cairo that his ceasefire proposal was “built on” the Egyptian initiative, it manifestly is nothing of the kind. As indicated by the unconfirmed text reported by Issacharoff, by other subsequent reports of its content, and by the cabinet’s outraged rejection, it is a proposal that, to quote an unnamed official cited by Channel 2, “tunneled under the Egyptian initiative,” a document, to quote from another of those leaked comments, that reads like it was drawn up for or even by Hamas’s Khaled Mashaal.
And Kerry didn’t let up after unleashing his dreadful proposal. Following Friday’s fiasco, he jetted off to Paris and, quite extraordinarily, convened further consultations dominated by countries that overtly wish to do Israel harm. He met with his counterparts from Turkey, whose Hamas-backing leadership has lately accused Israel of attempting genocide in Gaza and compared Netanyahu to Hitler, and with Qatar, Hamas’s funder in chief, directly accused by president Shimon Peres last week of financing Hamas’s rockets and tunnels. Staggeringly, he did not bring Israel, Egypt, or the PA to his Paris sessions.
There were further leaks from the cabinet at the weekend to the effect that Netanyahu and his colleagues did not formally announce their unanimous rejection of Kerry’s ceasefire proposal in order to avoid provoking a public diplomatic confrontation with Israel’s most important ally. Instead, word of the rejection was allowed to find its way out. That seems rather quaint given what is clearly a major crisis in Israel-US ties at a time when Israel finds itself in the midst of a complex and costly war.
When Kerry’s predecessor, Hillary Clinton, got involved in the effort to broker terms for ending Operation Pillar of Defense in November 2012, it was self-evident, first, that a ceasefire was at hand, and, second, that the diplomatic work was being coordinated effectively with Jerusalem to ensure that Israel’s vital interests were being served. It is a testament to Kerry’s incompetence (or worse), and to the collapse of faith between him and Israel, that, when he headed ignominiously home on Saturday, neither of those assumptions held sway.
Whether through ineptitude, malice, or both, Kerry’s intervention was not a case of America’s top diplomat coming to our region to help ensure, through astute negotiation, the protection of a key ally. This was a betrayal.

Tensions In Middle East Soaring After Pakistan Launches Retaliatory Missile Strikes Against Iran That Killed 9 People
Pakistan’s air force launched retaliatory airstrikes early Thursday in Iran against alleged militant hideouts, killing at least nine people and further raising tensions between the neighbors.
The war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has now gone past the 100 day mark, with the Biden administration telling the Jews they cannot defeat Hamas. Add to that the missile strikes that the US and the UK have been conducting against the Houthi rebels in Yemen. Add to that Iran launching missiles on Pakistan two days ago with Pakistan retaliating today. If there was a bowl labeled ‘wars and rumours of wars’, it would be overflowing on the table right now. But what you really have to watch out for is the cup of the Lord. That one’s a real doozy.
“For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.” Psalm 75:8 (KJB)
Everyday we see this sin-cursed world preparing themselves to meet Antichrist, proclaiming that our biggest problem is Climate Change when it is actually the pending judgment by almighty God that is about to fall.
Pakistan launches airstrikes in Iran, killing 9, after an earlier attack by Tehran
FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS: Thursday’s attack followed one by Iran inside Pakistan on Tuesday. Both appeared to target Baluch militant groups with similar separatist goals on either side of the Iran-Pakistan border. The countries accuse each other of providing safe haven to the groups in their respective territories.
The attacks also come as the Middle East remains unsettled by Israel’s war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Iran also staged airstrikes late Monday in Iraq and Syria over an Islamic State-claimed suicide bombing that killed over 90 people in early January.
The strikes imperiled diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Tehran, as Iran and nuclear-armed Pakistan have long regarded each other with suspicion over militant attacks. Each nation also faces its own internal political pressures, and the strikes may in part be in response to that.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry described its attack Thursday as “a series of highly coordinated and specifically targeted precision military strikes.”
“This morning’s action was taken in light of credible intelligence of impending large scale terrorist activities,” it said in a statement. “This action is a manifestation of Pakistan’s unflinching resolve to protect and defend its national security against all threats.”
Pakistan’s military described using “killer drones, rockets, loitering munitions and standoff weapons” in the attack. Standoff weapons are missiles fired from aircraft at a distance — likely meaning Pakistan’s fighter jets didn’t enter Iranian airspace.
Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul-Haq-Kakar, attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, cut his trip short to return home. A deputy governor of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, Ali Reza Marhamati, gave the casualty figures from Thursday’s strike, saying the dead included three women, four children and two men near the town of Saravan along the border. He said the dead were not Iranian citizens.
The Baluch Liberation Army, an ethnic separatist group that has operated in the region since 2000, said in a statement the strikes targeted and killed its people. “Pakistan has martyred innocent Baluch people,” it said. READ MORE
Pakistan launched strikes inside Iran, allegedly targeting fighters’ positions
Pakistan’s foreign ministry says its air force has hit targets in Iran’s province of Sistan and Baluchistan. Iranian state media is reporting that seven people have been killed.

No One Is Shocked As Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh Says That Donations To Help Gaza Are Actually Funding Islamic Jihad In Gaza And The West Bank
Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh: We Should Hold On To The Moment Of The Victory Of October 7 And Build Upon It, Time Is On Our Side
On January 9th of this new year, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said that the raping of Jewish women and the slaughter of innocent Israelis on October 7th was a ‘glorious moment of victory’ for the cause of the Palestinian people in Gaza. He further went on to say that the money that people are donating to Gaza for aid is actually being used to fund Hamas. Hmm, sounds like he got his education at Harvard.
“For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.” Zephaniah 2:4 (KJB)
So no one should be in any way surprised at this candid admission from the Hamas terror leader, because where did all the money come from for a network of tunnels rivaling that of the New York subway system? In came from ‘humanitarian aid’ sent to Gaza. Billions and billions of dollars in aid. Even as recently as today, the United Nations still continues to call for a ceasefire without ever mentioning any of the hostages Hamas is still holding. Joe Biden hasn’t mentioned the hostages for weeks. Old news, no one cares, but they are still being held captive. I will tell you another place that aid money sent to Gaza wound up, in the bank accounts of Hamas leaders like Ismail Haniyeh. Gaza will never be free until Palestinians are willing to wage jihad on Hamas.
Donations To Gaza Are Not ‘Humanitarian Aid’ But ‘Financial Jihad’
FROM MEMRI: Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh spoke at a conference of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) in Doha, Qatar, which was aired on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) on January 9, 2024, about the role of Islamic scholars worldwide in the wake of October 7. He said: “We should hold on to the victory that took place on October 7 and build upon it,” and he added: “Time is on our side.” Haniyeh said that Islamic scholars should advocate for the Palestinians in their respective countries and that donations to Gaza were not humanitarian aid, but “financial Jihad.” He stated that “the time has come for the Jihad of the swords.”
“The Time Has Come For Jihad Of The Swords; This Is The Battle For Jerusalem And The Al-Aqsa Mosque, And Not The Battle Of The Palestinian People”
“Like the scholars have mentioned, there are fatwas to this effect, and there are motivating statements. There is verbal Jihad, which is Jihad by the tongue, but indeed, the time has come for Jihad of the swords. This is the battle for Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and not the battle of the Palestinian people, or Gaza, or the people in Gaza.” READ MORE

IDF Wipes Out Major Hamas Compound In Gaza City Known As ‘Commander’s Square’ Where Senior Officials Operated ‘Nerve Center’ Headquarters
The demolition of the subterranean structure followed the revelation that the IDF had taken control of Hamas’s Gaza City ‘senior quarter,’ the IDF noted.
What Israel is doing right now is ugly, no doubt about that, but necessary for their continued survival against a pathological enemy that has no problem killing themselves if it means taking some Jews down also. A kamikaze Muslim is a tough nut to crack, but that’s exactly what Israel is doing in Gaza right now.
“Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.” Psalm 59:5 (KJB)
When Israel is done, Gaza as we’ve known it will have ceased to exist. It’s heartbreaking that it has to be like that, but Hamas has become Gaza, and you cannot remove one without removing the other. The question is what will rise up in its place? The Palestinians have proved they do not desire peace with Israel, so they shall have ‘wars and rumours of war’ instead.
IDF destroys Hamas’s Palestine Square tunnels, takes over Gaza’s Shejaia
FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: Soldiers for the Yahalom special operations unit of the IDF’s Combat Engineering Corps, along with troops from the 401st Brigade combat team, destroyed the secret underground web of tunnels seized on Wednesday by Israeli forces, the IDF said on Thursday. The demolition of the subterranean structure followed the revelation that the IDF had taken control of Hamas’s Gaza City “senior quarter,” the IDF added. The network of tunnel branches reportedly contained apartments, offices, and living quarters of senior Hamas officials.
The tunnels led to above-ground sites in the Shejaia neighborhood’s Palestine Square. The Jerusalem Post reported on Wednesday that Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, and Muhammad Deif had used this network to manage the organization’s operation and movement through the center of Gaza City, which has nicknamed the area “Commander’s Square.”
Colonel Beni Aharon noted that the tunnels were used to store equipment taken from civilians that could enable Hamas leadership to shelter there for an extended period of time.
Further, the location of the tunnels was apparently strategically constructed in an area between a high-class residential area that includes a college, a hotel, a school for the deaf, and a fancy bridal shop. The demolition of the tunnel network was carried out in a controlled manner, the IDF reported. READ MORE
