The Israeli Air Force carried out massive targeted airstrikes in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Friday evening, with the military saying it had struck Hezbollah’s main headquarters.

Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the United Nations this morning, right before our Friday Podcast, and told the world that Israel was no longer going to wait to be attacked but would take the fight to their enemies. To prove that point, Netanyahu left the UN, went back to his hotel and gave the order for the IDF to obliterate the Hezbollah headquarters compound in Beirut. In the blink of an eye it was gone, and with it many high-ranking Hezbollah leaders including maybe their kingpin, Hassan Nasrallah. Wow, just wow.

We have reached a new phase in the unfolding end times in which we find ourselves. The world is headed inescapably toward world war in Europe, as well as in the Middle East. Now imagine both those theaters combined, what a mess that would be, and yet, here we are. So far Iran has done nothing, Hezbollah has done nothing, and none of the various Iranian terror proxies have done much of anything. But rest assured, the response will come and it might be more than anyone is expecting. Pray for the Jews and Israel in their hour of need.

IDF conducts massive strike on Hezbollah HQ in Beirut; Nasrallah may have been target

FROM THE TIMES OF ISRAEL: The attack shook the Lebanese capital and sent thick clouds of smoke over the city. There were reports of many casualties in the multiple strikes. Unconfirmed Hebrew media reports said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was targeted, leading to widespread speculation and conflicting reports as to his fate.

A source close to Hezbollah said the Israeli strikes flattened six buildings. It was the heaviest attack in Beirut in almost a year of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel. A Lebanese security source told Reuters that Hezbollah’s top officials are usually gathered at the site that was targeted.

Underlining the extraordinary nature of the strike, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari gave an on-camera statement minutes after the strike. Hagari said the main command center was built underneath civilian buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb, a known Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut. He did not mention whether Nasrallah was a target or was believed to be present at the site. Footage from Beirut showed extensive destruction at the site. He said there were no changes to guidelines for Israeli civilians at this time.

Israel has eliminated much of the Hezbollah terror group’s most senior leadership in recent weeks. Leading Israeli television networks reported that Nasrallah was the target of the strikes, and that the attack had involved bombs totaling tens of tons of explosives.

Unnamed sources told multiple Israeli media outlets that Israel was checking if Nasrallah was at the headquarters when it was struck. Sources close to Hezbollah told AFP and Reuters Nasrallah was alive, while Reuters cited an Iranian security official saying Tehran was checking his status. READ MORE

Israel has called its airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon ‘Operation Northern Arrows’ as the major military action enters the second day.

And so it begins. For the past 15 years, NTEB has been bringing you all the latest breaking end times news from Israel and the Middle East, and during all that time tensions have come and gone with a steady and predictable regularity. Then on October 7th of 2023, the predictability stopped and we went off the script. Last week, after nearly a year of fighting Hamas in Gaza, Israel finally took the fight to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Today, Israel has announced the start of ‘Operation Northern Arrows’, the fight to secure their northern border with Lebanon.

What is taking place right now in Lebanon is stunning, it is Israel saying “enough is enough!” and pro-actively launching pre-emptive strikes against Hezbollah. Israel is hitting Hezbollah mercilessly, to such great effect that now Iran is calling for a ‘de-escalation’ with their arch-enemy Israel. “We don’t want to fight,” the Iranian president said. “It’s Israel that wants to drag everyone into war and destabilize the region. … They are dragging us to a point where we do not wish to go.” Very disingenuous words from a nation that has done nothing but provide financial and military support to their proxies like Hezbollah with which to attack the Jews. It’s not fun when Israel fight back, is it? Mr. Netanyahu, if you’re reading this, put blinders on and destroy your enemies, because if you don’t they will destroy you. Don’t stop until Hezbollah and Hamas are reduced to insignificant numbers incapable of mounting further attacks on the Jews. Israel Launches ‘Operation Northern Arrows’, Strikes Lebanon: Latest Updates

FROM NEWSWEEK: IDF’s chief of staff, Lt Gen Herzi Halevi unveiled the codename for its operation to secure Israel’s northern border against Hezbollah attacks with the intention of up to 60,000 displaced Israelis returning to their homes, while he warned Israel was preparing for the next steps of the operation.

Last week, Israel said it was shifting the focus of its firepower from Gaza to its Lebanon front last week, calling it a “new phase” of war with the Iran-backed Lebanese militia.

Israeli strikes killed nearly 500 people on Monday, the deadliest day for the country since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, the Lebanese health ministry said. Israel launched fresh air strikes on Tuesday prompting thousands more to flee southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah returned fire launching over 100 rockets into northern Israel. The Kremlin said Tuesday that the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah risked destabilising the region, according to Al-Jazeera.

“It is, of course, an event that is potentially very dangerous,” risking expansion of the zone of the conflict and “complete destabilisation of the region”, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists. “Of course that causes us extreme concern and worry,” the Kremlin spokesman added.

Peskov was responding to a question about how the Kremlin views the latest Israeli strikes on Lebanon and the possible ways it sees to resolve the conflict.

Temporary shelters set up as thousands flee Israeli bombs

Sky is reporting that Lebanese minister Nasser Yassin has said temporary shelters with space for 26,000 people have been set up as residents of Lebanon’s south flee Israeli bombs. Families have loaded cars, vans and trucks with belongings, gridlocking motorways to the north. Children crammed onto parents’ laps and suitcases were tied to car roofs. Some 89 shelters in schools and other facilities have been activated to receive them, said Mr Yassin.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran is prepared to de-escalate tensions with Israel

Bloomberg is reporting the move is possible if Iran sees the same level of commitment on the other side.

“We’re willing to put all our weapons aside so long as Israel is willing to do the same,” Pezeshkian told reporters Monday ahead of the UN General Assembly in New York. “We’re not seeking to destabilize the region.”

Pezeshkian is in the US for his first appearance at the UN’s annual gathering, where he’s scheduled to speak on Tuesday. After a delay because of the conflict in Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to address the same summit on Wednesday although this could change.

The Iranian president commented as tensions between Iran and Israel reach new heights after Tehran blamed Israel for being behind a large-scale explosion of pagers and walkie talkies that saw several killed and thousands of people injured in Lebanon — including Iran’s ambassador to Beirut. Iran has threatened to retaliate.

Death toll reaches 558 people according to health ministry

As Israel strikes continue into Tuesday Beirut’s Health Ministry has released the latest casualty figures with 558 people, including 50 children reported to have been killed and 1,835 people in total wounded in fierce bombardment of various parts of Lebanon, mainly in the south according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah fired a barrage of over 100 missiles at Israeli air bases in response as world leaders and the United Nations called for urgent de-escalation. Israel is fighting on several fronts and it is being reported that 12 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours. READ MORE

The U.S. is sending troops to the Middle East in response to the surge in violence between Israel and Hezbollah and as the region teeters on the edge of an all-out war.

All the elements are in place right now for an all-out regional war in the Middle East, so much so that the United States is ramping up its military presence in the Gulf as they announced thousands more troops are right now in transit. For it’s part, Israel is literally bombing the stuffing out of Hezbollah in Lebanon as Netanyahu posts video warning citizens of Lebanon to leave immediately from areas that contain rocket and missile launching pads of Hezbollah.

Hezbollah has a reputed 100,000 trained terrorists in their army, and nearly 2,000 rockets and missiles in their arsenal, and they have long vowed to one day destroy Israel. Add to that their alliance with Syria and Iran, and all that together presents a formidable front. Yet strangely, even after intense attacks from the IDF and the IAF, terror leader Nasrallah has yet to issue the order for war with the Jews. What is holding them back? If they wait much longer, they won’t have very much left.

US announces it’s sending troops to the Middle East and warns Americans to leave Lebanon as Israel bombs Hezbollah

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: The Pentagon announced on Monday that ‘additional’ service members would be deployed to join the 40,000 already stationed in the region along with a dozen warships and fighter jet squadrons. Israeli forces have ramped up their airstrikes deep inside Lebanon and the State Department has warned all Americans to leave as the risk of conflict spirals to levels not seen in years.

Tensions have reached boiling point in the last seven days, and started to deteriorate when pagers and walkie talkies owned by members of Hezbollah exploded in a coordinated attack last week. Devastating airstrikes by the Israeli military on Monday killed at least 100 people and injured another 400 in Lebanon as IDF warplanes pummeled targets across the country.

Terrified residents in Beirut and elsewhere received calls and texts warning them to move away from Hezbollah targets, with Lebanon’s information minister condemning the alerts as a tactic of ‘psychological war implemented by the enemy’. Schools have been closed early during the heavy attacks that have sparked calls for international intervention.

At the Pentagon, Press Secretary Gen. Pat Ryder would not confirm how many troops would be deployed or where they are going.

‘In light of the increased tensions in the Middle East, and out of an abundance of caution, we are sending a small number of additional US military personnel forward to augment our forces that are already in the region,’ he said.

‘Due to the unpredictable nature of ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel and recent explosions throughout Lebanon, including Beirut, the U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens to depart Lebanon while commercial options still remain available,’ the State Department cautioned Saturday.

The number of troops deployed to U.S. Central Command grew from 34,000 to 40,000 in the aftermath of Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel.  Navy warships are scattered across the region and anchored in the eastern Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of Oman.

The U.S. has a single air craft carrier strike group, which includes the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, in the region, after another departed for the Asia Pacific region.  In addition, there are Navy destroyers in the Red Sea and six warships in the Eastern Mediterranean. READ MORE
