A rare earthquake rocked the New Jersey and New York City area Friday morning, swaying buildings and sending terrified residents into the streets, the strongest temblor to hit the Big Apple in 130 years.

As I was preparing today’s Podcast on the possible coming Bird Flu pandemic, news came of a very rare and powerful earthquake rocked New Jersey, and it was felt in New York City and all the boroughs as well. My good friend and brother in the Lord, Pastor Dave, texted me while we were on-air and said this “I’ve never felt anything like that before went on for a good 20 seconds here at work the whole building shook, sounded like a explosion or freight train coming through. Crazy!” I can’t think of a better way to describe it than that. Crazy.

Magnitude-4.8 earthquake rocks New Jersey, NYC, tri-state area

FROM THE NY POST: City officials quickly warned people of the danger of potential aftershocks — which already began in the early afternoon in New Jersey, a report said. The preliminary 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Lebanon, NJ, around 10:23 a.m., the first time a major tremor hit the area since 2011, according to the US Geological Survey.

“I was doing my morning reporting, and this safe in my office, that’s a ton, starts shaking. The whole room is shaking,” said Monique Horton, who works at the Balmain store on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. “I was just freaked out. Scary, really scary. I’m a New Yorker, my whole life, 36 years, never seen anything like it.”

At the United Nations in Midtown Manhattan, a Security Council address on the Israel-Gaza conflict was interrupted as cameras began shuddering.

The Federal Aviation Administration told airlines to expect flight delays in and out of the Big Apple because of the quake. Some flights bound for New York had already diverted to other airports, according to FlightAware.

US Geological Survey figures indicate the quake might have been felt by a staggering 42 million people.

“This is one of the largest earthquakes on the East Coast in the last century,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said.

The last time an earthquake with a magnitude close to, or above, 5 struck near New York City was back in 1884, the USGS said. That quake appeared to have been centered in Brooklyn. READ MORE

A huge earthquake in Turkey and Syria registering 7.8 on the Richter Scale has already killed 3,700 souls, injuring countless thousands more, was like ‘watching the apocalypse’.

This week is off to a gangbusters start from a prophecy perspective, with a once in a generation earthquake rocking Turkey and Syria, open worship of Satan at the Grammys sponsored by Pfizer, as well as minor earthquakes in New York and Georgia. Russia is preparing to unleash a 500,000 soldier contingent on Ukraine, and Chinese spy balloons fly over America with impunity. Things get much hotter and it might be time for a little ’23 skidoo’, and wouldn’t that be great? In the meantime, here we are at the beginning of sorrows.

She reported this morning that “Yes thank God I’m all right.  I’m living in Istanbul and this horrendous earthquake happened in the southeast of Turkey a few hours away from me. But it is turning into quite a disaster for the nation.  Thank you for your prayers and your concern. We have been told to restock our “earthquake bag” in case we too become affected. We just learned Pastor Hakan and his wife in Anitoch went to be with the Lord , leaving behind a young son. We have so few Turkish Pastors. Tragic” Please continue to pray for LuAnn and her efforts in Turkey, that the Lord would continue to keep her safe and give her and her team much fruit for His Kingdom. And pray for the untold tens of thousands of souls devastated by this earthquake.

Major earthquake kills 3,700 in Turkey and Syria, weather hits survivors

FROM YAHOO NEWS: A huge earthquake killed more than 3,700 people across a swathe of Turkey and northwest Syria on Monday, with freezing winter weather adding to the plight of the thousands left injured or homeless and hampering efforts to find survivors.

The magnitude 7.8 quake brought down whole apartment blocks in Turkish cities and piled more devastation on millions of Syrians displaced by years of war. It struck before sunrise in harsh weather and was followed in the early afternoon by another large quake.

In Diyarbakir in southeast Turkey, a woman speaking next to the wreckage of the seven-storey block where she lived said: “We were shaken like a cradle. There were nine of us at home. Two sons of mine are still in the rubble, I’m waiting for them.” She was nursing a broken arm and had injuries to her face.

“It was like the apocalypse,” said Abdul Salam al-Mahmoud, a Syrian in the northern town of Atareb. “It’s bitterly cold and there’s heavy rain, and people need saving.”

The earthquake was the biggest recorded worldwide by the U.S. Geological Survey since a tremor in the remote South Atlantic in August 2021.

In Turkey, the death toll stood at 2,316, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said, making it the country’s deadliest earthquake since a tremor of similar magnitude in 1999 devastated the heavily populated eastern Marmara Sea region near Istanbul, killing more than 17,000. A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck in remote western Nevada early Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Service, shaking people from Utah to California — and some pointing out it happened near Area 51.

With the COVID-19 hysteria sucking all the oxygen out of the news cycle each and every day, stories that we would normally be paying close attention to have been largely ignored. Stories like the unexplained and massive rise in earthquakes both in America and around the world since 2020 began 4 and one half months ago.

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Not only are earthquakes increasing, they are appearing in very odd and out of the way places like Utah and Idaho, places not historically known for sizable earthquake activity. Globally over the past 24 hours, there have been sizable earthquakes in the Samoa Islands, Indonesia, and the Vanuatu Islands, as well as in Nevada as our main story today shows you. All told, there have been 612 earthquakes since this time yesterday around the world.

“And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. 6.5 magnitude earthquake hits Nevada near Area 51; quake felt from Utah to California

FROM FOX NEWS: The temblor was reported at 4:03 a.m. about 35 miles outside Tonopah, just east of the Sierra Nevada range. First recorded as a 6.4 earthquake, the USGS later upgraded it to a 6.5 magnitude. The initial quake struck about 4.7 miles deep, the USGS said, and at least six sizable aftershocks were recorded shortly thereafter, including two with estimated magnitudes of 5.4. The USGS has advised that Nevada will continue to experience more earthquakes than usual as aftershocks continue throughout the day.

Initial reactions to the earthquake were largely humorous. Most people in the area were still asleep, meaning the earthquake woke them up.

A good number of reactions, though, noted the earthquake originated around the infamous Area 51, spurring a number of jokes that the earthquake was caused by aliens. In a year that has already included a pandemic, the threat of murder hornets and heightened hurricane activity, an Area 51 earthquake seemed to be fitting. READ MORE

Nevada highway damaged by largest area quake in 65 years

 FROM THE AP: The cracked main highway between Las Vegas and Reno reopened Friday, 10 hours after a predawn magnitude 6.5 earthquake that a researcher called the largest to strike the remote area of western Nevada in 65 years.

No injuries were reported, but officials said goods tumbled from market shelves, sidewalks heaved and storefront windows cracked shortly after 4 a.m. People from Salt Lake City to California’s Central Valley tweeted that they felt shaking.

Lights swayed at the governor’s mansion in Carson City, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak told reporters. “It woke me up, so it definitely had an impact,” he said.

Nevada Highway Patrol photos showed cracks on U.S. 95 before crews repaired them about 35 miles (56 kilometers) west of Tonopah. A detour to State Route 360 had added more than 20 miles (32 kilometers) to motorists’ trips.

The vast open range east of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada is seismically active, said Graham Kent, director of the Nevada Seismological Lab at the University of Nevada, Reno. He ranked Friday’s event with twin December 1954 earthquakes at Fairview Peak and Dixie Valley. Kent said those temblors were magnitudes 7.1 and 6.8, respectively. READ MORE
