The Acts of the Apostles, also known as the Book of Acts, shows you the life and ministry of the apostles of Jesus including the one who is “born out of due time”, the apostle Paul

We have begun our comprehensive look at the Acts of the Apostles, 28 chapters that take you from the Kingdom Age right into the Church Age. Along the way we see the roots and foundations of the New Testament Church as we know it today, rightly dividing as we go, watching for the dispensation to change. And change it does in a mighty way. But remember, the book of Acts is primarily a look into the lives of the apostles themselves, and things will look a little different than how Paul describes the Church in places like 1 Timothy. Signs, miracles and wonders are present, but they will come to an end by the time the book closes. The Kingdom Age closes with the stoning of Stephen, and the Church Age begins with the salvation of the Ethiopian eunuch. The Acts of the Apostles is one of the most exciting books in the New Testament, but one you must get right or you will wreck.

“And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.” Acts 8:30,31 (KJB)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, the book of Acts, or The Acts of the Apostles, shows us the life and ministry of the apostles of Jesus Christ from the gospels, including one who is “born out of due time”, the apostle Paul. But before he was an apostle of the Lord, Saul was a fearsome type of Antichrist, and we will look at that as well. Think you’re called to the ministry? You better think again, the book of Acts shows you what the ministry is, and you may not like it much. TONIGHT’S STUDY: Is it hard to imagine the apostle Paul, the greatest Christian that ever lived, as a type of Antichrist? It sure is, but that’s the way it was in the opening days of the early Church. Paul was a relentless persecutor of Christians – men, women and children – made no difference to him, he targeted them, pursued them, caught them and put in the jail to await their death. Their only crime was believing in Jesus of Nazareth as their Saviour, Kind of sounds like Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, doesn’t it? Tonight we meet Saul on the Damascus road and watch what happens when he comes face to face with the risen Lord Jesus.

David stood strong against the giant Goliath to bring him the message that “there is a God in Israel!”, and that’s a great message for here today at the end of the Church Age

We live in a day and age where the saints, people who are born again by the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, are being pushed to the breaking point and wearing out. The nightly news delivers nothing to us but wars and rumours of wars, and it appears that the wicked who compass us on every side are actually winning (they’re not). But let me remind you of what David said to the massive and towering giant named Goliath as he looked down upon him. David said “that all the world may know there is a God in Israel”. Today I bring you a message on fighting the good fight, finishing your course and keeping the faith because there is a God in Israel!

Jesus started His earthly ministry talking about setting the captives free from prison and at Bibles Behind Bars that’s the main thing we are focused on.

I think just about everyone reading this article has in their family a minimum of at least one person who struggles with substance abuse on some level, in fact, I’m sure of it. Additionally, many people also have a loved one the penal system and incarcerated at some level. We gets phone calls and emails about this on a near daily basis from our readers. Now imagine a situation where the person is battling substance abuse at the same time they’re locked up. That’s a pretty rough row to hoe, and the King James Bible is just the tool needed to work in that hard, tough field.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” Luke 4:18 (KJB)

A substance abuse counselor at the Heard County Jail just emailed me a little while ago, telling me about the situation there and the need for Bibles and books. Think about the people to whom those Bibles will go, imagine if it was your loved one, it’s someone’s loved one for sure. I think Bibles Behind Bars, the sending of King James Bibles to people bound and captive in the prison house, is just about the most vital ministry we have here at NTEB, and I believe in it with all my heart. So much so that I tithe my entire paycheck that I receive as pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, around $10,000 per year, and let it all go to Bibles for inmates. I am all in, with both feet, how about you? Come join us, we need your help, as we are also looking to send Bibles and books to the Sweetwater County Detention Center in Wyoming and the Maine Correctional Center in Windham.
