Why I Am A King James Bible Only Christian Has Nothing To Do With The Greek, Hebrew, Or Any Other Movement, Group, Organization Or Individual

This is why I have been King James only for 30 years now, and why I will not ever, by God’s grace, move from that foundation at any point in the future.

Funny thing, though, whenever I picked up an NIV or some other modern translation, it didn’t speak to me, it felt like I was holding a balloon that was rapidly leaking air. I can’t explain that, I only know that’s what happened.

A few weeks ago, we opened up the NTEB Bible Believers Bookstore here in Saint Augustine, and the Lord is blessing us with favor in the community and online as sales remain encouraging and steady. But more than a few people who have visited the store have asked why we don’t sell any other bible or commentary other than the King James. The answer is really quite simple, and I would like to share my thoughts with you on that today.

“Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” Ecclesiastes 8:4 (KJB)

I didn’t come to be a King James Only Christian because of any one charismatic bible preacher or teacher, and I was not introduced to the Independent Fundamental Baptist movement until years after I was saved. I became a King James Only Christian on March 14th, 1991, because I held that Book in my hands, read it, believed it, and got saved. That Book spoke to me, and God allowed me at once to see that it was the truth. Now, I didn’t know any Christians, no one ‘led me to the Lord’ other than the Holy Spirit, and I had never set foot inside a Christian Church. All I had was God, the King James Bible, and salvation. I was blissfully unaware that the ‘King James Only Controversy’ was even a thing.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (KJB)

After getting saved, things happened quickly. I soon found myself in a small, non-IFB Baptist Church, where the pastor was not King James only. But that made no mind to me because I had my bible and no one was going to talk me out of it. Funny thing, though, whenever I picked up an NIV or some other modern translation, it didn’t speak to me, it felt like I was holding a balloon that was rapidly leaking air. I can’t explain that, I only know that’s what happened.

I began to read Christian literature and biographies of great men that God used like DL Moody, Robert Sheffey and others, and what did I find? I found them all to be King James Bible people. I had little to no interest in most of the ones in the 20th century other than people like Clarence Larkin and Peter Ruckman, and when I got to that stage in my journey, it was there I was introduced to the raging battlefield that is the IFB Movement. But following sound advice to ‘eat the meat and spit out the bones’, I soon made substantial progress.

One thing that puzzled me was why nearly all of the ‘brain boys’, the Greek and Hebrew scholars, all seemed to be highly critical of the King James, and nearly all of them defaulted to versions like the NIV, ESV and others. Why would such smart people want a book that, to me, had no power? Good question, we’ll answer that in a bit. One day, I thought it would be fun to compare scripture in the King James with scripture in the NIV, and what I found shocked me.

King James Version – KJV
New International Version – NIV
Why did Jesus come to earth?
Luke 9:56
For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
Matt. 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Luke 9:56
and they went to another village.
Matt. 18:11

Is repentance important?
Matt. 9:13
…I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Matt. 9:13
…I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
For whom did Jesus die?
I Cor. 5:7
…Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
I Cor. 5:7
…Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
In Whom must you believe to be saved?
John 6:47
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
John 6:47
I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.
Was Joseph really the father of Jesus?

Did Jesus give His disciples power to heal?

Mark 11:26
(missing)
Who is in charge?
I Cor. 10:28
…for the earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof:
I Cor. 10:28
(last part of verse missing)
How must we deal with our enemies?
Matt. 5:44
…Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.
Matt. 5:44
…Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Where did Jesus go?
John 16:16
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
John 16:16
In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.
Is it John or the Devil?
Revelation 13:1
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Revelation 13:1
The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.

I don’t know how to explain that, do you? And what you see there is only a few examples, there are hundreds and hundreds more. How could there be such a great discrepancy between the King James and the NIV? Was it done out of ignorance, was it intentional, what was behind it all? Those questions would be answered when I bought my first copy of ‘New Age Bible Versions’, and read the amazing, Holy Spirit-led research done by Gail Riplinger. I highly recommend you get yourself a copy, we happily sell it at the bookstore.

Do you know the one thing that all bible versions over that past 410 years have in common? I bet you don’t. The one thing that all bible version from the King James on forward have in common is that they are all different. Common sense and logic would dictate that things that are different cannot be the same. So if they are all different, which one is the one where God has preserved His word? Since the word of God cannot contradict itself, can you show me where God has preserved His word? I can. Now look at the following verses from Psalm 12 in the King James and in the NIV. The King James gives you a promise that God will preserve His word on earth for all generations, and then the NIV swoops in and erases that promise! See for yourself.

  • GOD’S PROMISE TO PRESERVE HIS WORDS IN THE KJB: “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Psalm 12:6,7 (KJB)
  • GOD’S PROMISE TO PRESERVE HIS WORDS REMOVED: “And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold[fn] refined seven times. You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked,Psalm 12: 6,7 (NIV)

If you’re a bible believing Christian who loves the Book, that one example alone should make you fighting mad, does it?? The King James in verse 7 gives you God’s absolute, rock-solid promise to preserve His words throughout every generation, that’s a huge promise! What does the NIV do? It erases it and substitutes it with meaningless nonsense that has nothing to do with preservation of scripture at all. Verse 7 in the NIV is not anything at all like verse 7 in the King James. I’m from New Jersey, we call this a scam, the old ‘bait-and-switch’. Verse 7 in the King James is talking about the preservation of words, verse 7 in the NIV is talking about the preservation of people. Not even remotely close on any level.

This is why I have been King James only for 30 years now, and why I will not ever, by God’s grace, move from that foundation at any point in the future. I hope you have enjoyed this snapshot of my faith in the King James Bible, and who knows, maybe this will become an ongoing series. But let me challenge you today to pick one modern bible where you think God has preserved His words, there can be only one, and defend your choice by comparing it to the King James. If you do it honestly and before the Lord, you will come to the exact same conclusion that I came to.

Now The End Begins is your front line defense against the rising tide of darkness in the last Days before the Rapture of the Church

Please continue to pray for us, and for wisdom for me especially, as we continue taking steps to print the NTEB branded King James Bible for our free Bible and Bibles Behind Bars program. It is exciting and intimidating at the same time. If the Lord has prospered your financially, we ask you to donate to help us continue to send out free Bibles at this level, and even higher than we are at the moment. It takes a lot of prayer, and a lot of resources to do all this. Praise the Lord we are doing it, all of us together, labouring in the Lord’s harvest field. TO THE FIGHT!!!

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.

But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Please pray for our efforts, and if the Lord leads you to donate, be as generous as possible. The war is REAL, the battle HOT and the time is SHORTTO THE FIGHT!!!

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” Titus 2:13 (KJB)

NTEB RADIO BIBLE STUDY: Understanding The Law Of First Mention Of The First Appearance Of A Bible Word Will Supercharge Your Scripture Studies

Published

on

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

The Law Of First Mention Is A Powerful Bible Study Principle That Teaches Us To Let The Scriptures Define Their Own Words And Doctrines in their context

The Law of First Mention is a powerful Bible-study principle because it reminds us that God introduces His truth with divine order, not random placement. When a word, doctrine, or theme first appears in Scripture, the surrounding context often plants the seed of how that subject will unfold throughout the rest of the Bible. The first mention of “love” in Genesis 22 connects love with a father, a son, sacrifice, obedience, and substitution, pointing forward to the love of God in giving His only begotten Son. The first mention of “holy” in Exodus 3 connects holiness with a very special piece of ground. These first appearances are not accidents; they are signposts placed by the Holy Spirit for the Bible believer who studies the words of God carefully.

“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:” Isaiah 28:9-10 (KJB)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, at the same time, the Law of First Mention must be handled with reverence and right division. It is a Bible-study principle, not a license to force every later verse into one narrow meaning. Context still rules, Scripture must be compared with Scripture, and doctrine must be rightly divided between Israel, the Gentiles, and the Church of God. Used properly, this principle strengthens faith in the supernatural structure of the King James Bible and teaches the student to pay attention to every word. God defines His own terms, introduces His own doctrines, and develops His own revelation from Genesis to Revelation. The faithful Bible student does not run to the world for definitions; he begins where God begins, and lets the Book explain itself. On tonight’s Bible Study program, we give you a rocket ride through the Law of First Mention as found in your King James Bible.

  • I  thanked God for sending to your website in 2015 , I  live in the South of France near Nice and let me tell you here there isn’t any Bible Believing church at all, the sad reality of France is that is full of freemasons and Muslims. You came to me at the time I  was going to take my own life because of my job. You’re anointed person and I pray for you, family  and  ministry because you’re a blessing to all of us. May God bless you always. I know I’ll meet you in heaven one day. Lots of Love from your sister in Christ, Paula.
  • “Hi Geoffrey and staff, Today is my one year anniversary that I got saved on your podcast!  I am now a KJB only, I threw away my other two versions I had.  I was shocked to learn of the differences and how the new versions twist the words of God, and dilute the message at best. Thank you for the fabulous bible  education and fire for the Lord.  I donate on your website throughout the year.  Thanks for all that you do.” Donna
  • “I have been reading on NTEB for about 5 years and listening as I can to your services.  If I could list the encouragement, the doctrines, the awareness of what is coming (our blessed hope) but also the last days culture in which I live that you have taught me, this email wouldn’t fit in this letter. Because of you, I am a stronger more equipped soldier for Jesus Christ. Thank you sir for you, your ministry in my life. Faithful to the end because He lives in me.” Ruthie Dennis
  • “My name is Carl N from Mumbai, India. My wife Andrea and I have been ardent listeners of your Bible Study and news update podcasts from the very start of the lockdown last year. In fact we make it a point to share these links with our family and friends… many times getting into trouble, as the truth upsets people. We cannot even begin to tell you how this has changed our lives and walk with the Lord. Thank you so much for what you’ve been doing for the Kingdom!! We’ve even switched Bible translations to the KJV. For the last month or so, you’ve been speaking about making end times Bible study materials available. This got us really excited, as we’re eager to use these for our weekly house church group.” Carl N – Mumbai, India
  • “I listen to your podcasts often. Very enlightening and I’ve learned a lot. I’m Catholic and followed the Holy Bible throughout my life however, since listening to your podcasts, I’ve learned much more. I recently sent NTEB a small donation. I’d like to do so again in the future. I’ve also signed up for NTEB chatroom. Anyways, I have a downloaded version of KJB on my computer and I follow your Bible Study with my pdf version KJB. You have offered to send out printed version of KJB if requested. If not too much trouble, when you or your staff get the opportunity please send me a copy.” Kevin W – Frankfurt, Germany
  • Just wanted to let you know that your ministry is producing fruit. After listening to the studies and church on NTEB, I was motivated to write witness letters along with NTEB gospel tracks to friends from my hometown who I know are not saved. I sent two of the letters to former Catholic priests of mine….I attached the response from him urging me to read the book “Prove It!.” My wife and I have been placing your gospel tracks in different places we visit. This coming Sunday, I am hosting my first Bible study in my house with some people in our neighborhood. Tomorrow evening I have been given a chance to teach the lesson to our youth church group (our church is very Laodicean), and I am going to talk to the youth on end times. Thank you so much for your ministry and encouraging us to get something done for Jesus while we still can! Thomas B
  • “The sole purpose of this email to you is to let you know how much we have been blessed by your amazing ministry/website. ‘We’ is my wife and I, in our early forties, 3 kids, professing, churchgoing, bible believing Christians in The Netherlands.  Since two months, I listen to your bible studies on Sunday evening, and since this week also to your prophecy podcast. I listen to them in the archives, because of the 6 hour time difference. The shofar and the blessing at 0:30 into the study never fails to make tears in my eyes. We are praying for you, we are praying for your voice, that it lasts in these incredible busy times for you. Listening to your podcasts, you seem to do it effortlessly, talking, scanning the chatbox for questions, diving into the texts, from Genesis to Revelation and everything in between, I love it when you realize after 1:30h into the study, actually a lot more subjects need to be addressed! Thank you for all your work and effort, you are doing an amazing job. Although it all seems effortlessly, I know it is not…Our faith is strengthened by your work and we are able to testify in a better way to the people around us!” Wouter D. van der Wiel – Netherlands
  • “Wanted to send you encouragement and thank you for all you are doing!! I’ve been reading from this website for about 5 years and I’ve been on this at least 10 times a day. It’s the most honest prophecy website in history. And you have ministered to me greatly. This lockdown has been amazing as God gets us unto himself and smooths out the paths for us. I was reading devotional from Kenneth Copeland and during that time you had really hit That ministries hard. I was not Word Faith but I was feeding off his teaching. During this time I have removed Kenneth Copeland I wanted to thank you for your exposure of his ministry. Holy Spirit is truly the leader of all truths. The bible study on Bill Gates was tremendous. And I had the same check in my spirit as you did. He’s the guy that gonna lead this one world revolution Amazing times we live in. I’m super excited and living in total victory and peace. Once again thank you for the time you put in your reward in heaven will truly be great. Looking forward to this coming week. My prayer tonight is this …Father send Your Son!! DG
  • Thank you oh so much for sound teaching. I am so thankful and blessed for clicking on your channel. I have been on your Facebook page since 2011 and never subscribed to you-tube channel until today. I loved the live recording of singing, what a delight to hear the joy of the Lord in the voices of the congregation. So wonderful to hear the part about Luke 12:36, that has made my eyebrows furrow when I read and therefore I have always steadfast to not leaning on my own understanding. May God continue to bless you, your family friends and loved ones. All Glory be to Jesus, my Saviour Redeemer and King, Amen.” Susan Anderson
  • Loved this teaching! Presented in a clear contextual manner that was easy to follow along. You connected the dots for me that had previously brought so much confusion, namely the 4th seal covenant, the 5th seal tribulation saints, and the 6th seal 2nd Coming of Christ AFTER the wedding of the Body/Bride of Christ IN HEAVEN. Wow, after 41 years since my being born again by the Holy Spirit in to the Body of Christ, I finally have the answers to end the confusion. What joy and peace has flooded my heart! Thank you for this encouraging teaching of the Word.” SB
  • “I am from Sri Lanka and listen to the radio Bible study every week.” Nihal Perera

Nothing thrills my soul like teaching the word of God, it is what the Lord called me to do 29 years ago, and Now The End Begins is the vehicle in which I am able to do it. How exciting it is to be able to teach the Bible to tens of thousands of people per year. Like I told you with the first post of 2020, I have dedicated myself now full-time to NTEB, and it is only through your generous support that such a thing is possible.

  • “Jesus. I am now 64 years old and never in all the years I’ve been a Christian was I able to grow in the Lord as much as I have in the last past year. All because of our blessed brother’s work Geoffrey Grider who as the bravery of standing fast forward without fear of claiming the truth of God by the power of his love in Jesus Christ. May God bless you abundantly to the end my dear brother… ROMANS: 8: 36,37,38” Mireille Anderson
  • “I met you at the car dealership earlier this year. We spoke briefly, then you handed me a card and told me to check out the website. You left. A few minutes later, you returned to tell me not to forget to look up the website. I told you…” I already did. I already subscribed.” In that short time we spoke, I experienced from you…a total stranger…peace, joy, kindness, gentleness, compassion, and love. I am convinced that God sent you to share the Good News that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. For that, and for the work you are doing for the Kingdom of God, I say…Thank you and God Bless You.” Sonia Merced
  • “I really enjoy the emails and Bible studies! I haven’t found a church and enjoy your services very much! Be blessed brother!” Marcia Mann
  • “You and your organization are on the front lines in the Battle For Truth…. current events, end times, and trying to awaken a sleeping laodicean Church. Thank you brother for fighting for us and all your teaching and insight God bless…” Daniel Cartrette
  • “I’m a KJB believer. We’re so close to being “caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. I have many lost family who don’t want the truth, including my husband & son. I’ve been banned from seeing my grandsons since I comforted the 4 1/2 year old with sharing Jesus loving the little children & telling him about the one who created him last he stayed overnight March 3rd. He was so excited to hear about Jesus! His dad (my son) was angry that I told him & wants me to apologize. I never will do so. If my own family won’t hear, I know there’s others searching for the truth. My heart grieves for all the lost who will spend eternity in hell if they reject the Lord Jesus Christ, the expectant hope of the world. He is not willing that any should perish. God bless your ministry, Geoffrey! (I continue to pass out your tracts & you’re on my prayer list!)” LouAnn Benham
  • “Love the Sunday night bible study. I want to support someone who has the passion for the lost like Geoffrey does and rightly divides the word of God. God bless you.” Teresa Carey
  • “I give because not many news outlets are brave enough or Godly enough to tell these stories from a Christian’s point of view. I see stories here that will not be seen anywhere else.” William Grayshaw

THE BIBLE BELIEVERS SUNDAY SERVICE: Faith Like A Child

Published

on

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

Little Children In The Bible Show Us The Whole Path Of Faith From Coming To Christ, To Being Formed By Christ, To Abiding Until He Comes. That’s Faith Like A Child

Faith like a child is not weak faith, ignorant faith, or blind religious sentiment; it is the right kind of faith because it comes to Christ with empty hands and a dependent heart. When the Lord Jesus said, “Suffer little children to come unto me,” He showed us that the doorway is not pride, performance, intellect, ritual, or religious self-confidence, but simple trust in the One who calls. A child does not negotiate terms, present qualifications, or boast in achievement; a child simply comes because he is invited and because he believes the one calling him is good. That is the beginning of true faith: not confidence in the flesh, but helpless dependence upon the Lord Jesus Christ. But childlike faith does not end with merely coming to Christ; it continues as Christ is formed in the believer and the believer abides in Him until He appears.

“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16 (KJB)

Faith Like A Child

Little Children: From Coming To Christ To Being Ready At His Coming

Main Texts

“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16 (KJB)

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,” Galatians 4:19 (KJB)

“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.” 1 John 2:28 (KJB)

The Bible presents a spiritual progression in these three uses of “little children.” The Bible uses the phrase “little children” to denote actual little children who are seeking to come to Jesus, and it also uses that phrase to denote the “little children” that are formed, in people of any age, through the new birth.

First, the little children are called to come to Christ. That is the beginning. No one enters the kingdom through pride, religious performance, self-righteousness, or human merit. The child comes empty-handed, dependent, trusting, and helpless.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJB)

Second, the little children must have Christ formed in them. Paul is not dealing with unsaved pagans in Galatians 4:19, but with believers who had been turned aside by legalism. They had begun in the Spirit, but were being tempted to be made perfect by the flesh. Paul travailed over them because doctrine matters, grace matters, and Christ must be formed in the believer.

Third, the little children are told to abide in Him until He appears. John brings the thought to the Judgment Seat and the appearing of Jesus Christ. It is possible for a saved person to be ashamed at His coming, not because salvation is lost, but because fellowship, fruit, doctrine, and testimony were neglected. We cannot lose our salvation, but we can lose our inheritance.

“Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” Colossians 3:22-25 (KJB)

In the case of a Christian who might have lived in such a way as to lose their inheritance, you would need to plead the “sure mercies of David” before the Lord.

“God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.” Acts 13:33,34 (KJB)

“Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.  Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:2,3,7 (KJB)

Come to Christ → Christ formed in you → Abide in Christ until He appears

That is reception, formation, and expectation.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3 (KJB)

Application

I. The Child Must First Come To Christ

“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16 (KJB)

The first issue is not religion, church attendance, moral reform, or personal improvement. The first issue is coming to Christ. A child does not come with a résumé. A child does not come boasting. A child comes because he is called, welcomed, and received.

This is the simplicity of salvation. The sinner comes to Jesus Christ by faith, with nothing to offer and everything to receive.

“Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress; helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly; wash me, Savior, or I die.”

Doctrinal Point: Salvation begins with helpless dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ, not confidence in the flesh.

II. The Child Must Then Be Formed By Christ

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,” Galatians 4:19 (KJB)

Paul calls the Galatians “my little children” because he had spiritual responsibility for them. But they were in trouble. They had been pulled toward law-keeping, religious bondage, and fleshly performance after having begun in grace.

Christ being “formed” in them speaks of more than profession. It speaks of doctrine taking root. Grace replacing bondage. The inner man being shaped by the truth of Christ according to Paul’s gospel.

Doctrinal Point: The saved person must grow beyond merely being brought to Christ; Christ must be formed in him through sound doctrine, grace, and the renewing of the mind.

III. The Child Must Abide Until Christ Appears

“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.” 1 John 2:28 (KJB)

John brings the child of God face to face with the appearing of Jesus Christ. This is not merely sentimental language. This is accountability language. A believer may have confidence at His coming, or he may be ashamed.

The issue is abiding. Remaining in fellowship, continuing in truth, and not being seduced by antichrists, false doctrine, worldliness, and spiritual drift.

Doctrinal Point: The Christian life is lived in view of the appearing of Jesus Christ, and the believer should desire confidence, not shame, at His coming.

Closing Challenge

The connection between these three verses is not accidental. The Holy Spirit shows us the whole path of the child of God.

The little child comes to Christ.
The little child has Christ formed in him.
The little child abides in Christ until He appears.

Many are content to say they came to Christ, but they resist being formed by Christ. Others begin well, but fail to abide. The Bible calls the believer to all three.

So the question is not only, Have you come to Christ?

The deeper questions are:

  • Is Christ being formed in you?
  • Are you abiding in Him?
  • Will you have confidence when He appears, or will you be ashamed before Him at His coming?

The Lord does not merely call little children to come near. He calls them to grow in grace, stand in truth, abide in Him, and be ready when He appears. Whenever that may be.

Operation Africa! Reaches A Powerful Milestone As 823 King James, Ekegusii And Children’s Bibles Have Now Been Delivered Into The Hands Of Pastor Dancan In Kenya

Operation Africa has reached another powerful milestone, and we give God all the glory for it. The first step in this great end times missionary outreach is now complete, as the final shipment of the 823 King James, Ekegusii, and Children’s Bibles have been delivered into the hands of Pastor Dancan in Kisii, Kenya. Now onto Step #2, a tent for their outdoors church.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.” Acts 16:9 (KJB)

Bibles have been purchased, packed, transported, received, and placed where they need to be — in the hands of Bible believers, pastors, children, families, and new converts who are hungry for the word of God. In a day when much of modern Christianity is busy building brands, platforms, and entertainment centers, the Lord has allowed us to take part in something beautifully simple and eternally powerful, and that is simply the putting Bibles into the hands of people who need them. That’s our mission statement. Many of the people recieving these Bibles today have never held a Bible in their hands in their life. Think about the magnitude of that, and the awesomeness of the responsibility the Lord entrusted to us to give Bibles to them. This is what it looked like there this morning.

Since word began to spread about the 823 Bibles being delivered for Glory Fellowship Church, an additional 200 people have joined the church, with even more children coming as well who we also need to get Bibles to. That is not merely an increase in attendance, that’s not just excitement over a shipment. That is the visible stirring of revival, as the word of God creates hunger in the hearts of men, women, and children who are seeing that the Lord is doing something real in their midst. Our $25,000 Operation Africa! fundraiser has reached the halfway point in just under 2 weeks, and in this economy, that’s nothing short of a miracle. Please pray about partnering with us to reach our goal.

There is much work left to do, “come over to Macedonia” and help us!!
