James Comey’s planet is getting noticeably warmer. Attorney General William Barr’s emissions are the suspected cause.

James Comey, a long time benefactor and protector of Hillary Clinton, is nothing if not smug and condescending. Worse than that, since the day that he allowed Crooked Hillary Clinton to walk free in spite of a mountain of evidence, he has considered himself untouchable. But guess what? Attorney General William Barr just touched him., and it’s about to get really bad really fast.

Set free by the findings of the Mueller Report, President Trump has unleashed his attorney general William Barr, and charged him with investigating the very dubious activities of James Comey. As news of this hit the Internet today, somewhere in a mansion in Chappaqua, NY,  an invisible finger was writing on the wall.

FROM THE HILL: Ag William Barr has made plain that he intends to examine carefully how and why Comey, as FBI director, decided that the bureau should investigate two presidential campaigns and if, in so doing, any rules or laws were broken.

In light of this, the fired former FBI director apparently has decided that photos of him on Twitter standing amid tall trees and in the middle of empty country roads, acting all metaphysical, is no longer a sufficient strategy.

No, Comey has realized, probably too late, that he has to try to counter, more directly, the narrative being set by the unsparing attorney general whose words in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week landed in the Trump-opposition world like holy water on Linda Blair. Shrieking heads haven’t stopped spinning since.

And so we’ve seen Comey get real busy lately. First he penned a curious op-ed in The New York Times. Then a Times reporter, with whom Comey has cooperated in the past, wrote a news article exposing an early, controversial investigative technique against the Trump campaign in an attempt to get out front and excuse it. Next, Comey is scheduled to be encouraged on a friendly cable news “town hall.”

In the op-ed, Comey trotted out his now-familiar St. James schtick, freely pronouncing on the morality of others. He sees himself as a kind of Pontiff-of-the-Potomac working his beads, but comes across more like an unraveling Captain Queeg working his ball bearings.

Comey adjudged the president as “amoral.” He declared the attorney general to be “formidable” but “lacking inner strength” unlike — the inference is clear — Comey himself. A strategy of insulting the executioner right before he swings his ax is an odd one but, then, Comey has a long record of odd decisions and questionable judgment.

“Amoral leaders [referring to the president] have a way of revealing the character of those around them,” wrote Comey without a hint of irony or self-awareness. Those whom the former FBI director assembled around him probably rue the day they ever met the man. Most are now fired or disgraced for appalling behaviors that Comey found easy to manipulate to advance his decisions.

Then, just to make sure his op-ed was odd-salted to the max, Comey mused that the president “eats your soul in small bites.” OK, let’s step back for a moment: James Comey appears to be in trouble. His strange, desperate statements and behaviors betray his nervousness and apprehension. In a way, it’s hard to watch.

James Comey will claim that everything he did in the FBI was by the book. But after the investigations by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz and U.S. Attorney John Huber, along with Barr’s promised examination, are completed, Comey’s mishandling of the FBI and legal processes likely will be fully exposed.

Ideally, Barr’s examination will aggregate information that addresses three primary streams:

  1. The first will be whether the investigations into both presidential nominees and the Trump campaign were adequately, in Barr’s words, “predicated.” This means he will examine whether there was sufficient justification under existing guidelines for the FBI to have started an investigation in the first place. The Mueller report’s conclusions make this a fair question for the counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign. Comey’s own pronouncement, that the Clinton email case was unprosecutable, makes it a fair question for that investigation.
  2. The second will be whether Comey’s team obeyed long-established investigative guidelines while conducting the investigations and, specifically, if there was sufficient, truthful justification to lawfully conduct electronic surveillance of an American citizen.
  3. The third will be an examination of whether Comey was unduly influenced by political agendas emanating from the previous White House and its director of national intelligence, CIA director and attorney general. This, above all, is what’s causing the 360-degree head spins.

There are early indicators that troubling behaviors may have occurred in all three scenarios. Barr will want to zero in on a particular area of concern: the use by the FBI of confidential human sources, whether its own or those offered up by the then-CIA director.

Without diving into the weeds, it’s important to understand that FBI counterintelligence investigations generally proceed sequentially from what is called a preliminary investigation or inquiry (PI) to a full investigation (FI). To move from a PI to an FI requires substantial information — predication — indicating investigative targets acted as agents of a foreign power.

This is problematic for Comey in light of Mueller’s findings.

There are strict guidelines governing when the FBI can task a confidential source or a government undercover operative to collect against a U.S. citizen. Normally this is restricted to a full investigation, and normally restricted to the United States, not overseas.

There is a sense that Comey’s team was not checking the boxes, did not have adequate predication, and may have tasked sources before an investigation was even officially opened.  Barr should pull case files and dig in on this.

In addition, the cast of characters leveraged by the FBI against the Trump campaign all appear to have their genesis as CIA sources (“assets,” in agency vernacular) shared at times with the FBI. From Stefan Halper and possibly Joseph Mifsud, to Christopher Steele, to Carter Page himself, and now a mysterious “government investigator” posing as Halper’s assistant and cited in The New York Times article, legitimate questions arise as to whether Comey was manipulated into furthering a CIA political operation more than an FBI counterintelligence case.

Some in the media have suggested that the Times article was an attempt by the FBI to justify its early confidential source actions. But current FBI Director Christopher Wray has shown that he would like to excise the cancerous tumor that grew during Comey’s time and not just keep smoking. It’s hard to imagine current FBI executives trying to justify past malfeasance.

James Comey is right to be apprehensive. He himself ate away at the soul of the FBI, not in small bites but in dangerously large ones. It was a dinner for one, though: His actions are not indicative of the real FBI. The attorney general’s comprehensive examination is welcome and, if done honestly and dispassionately, it will protect future presidential candidates of both parties and redeem the valuable soul of the FBI.  READ MORE

Conservative influencers seen leaving the White House with binders labeled ‘The Epstein Files – Phase 1.’ was roundly mocked online today, and rightly so.

I take no pleasure in bringing you these stories about the things being done in the Trump administration, from the Golden Goat to the Golden Statue of King Trump, it’s safe to say they are off to a very bad start. Today they promised to release the long-hidden and equally long-awaited Jeffrey Epstein files, what they actually released were silly binders that looked like they were assembled by high school interns, labeled ‘The Epstein Files – Phase 1’. What was contained in those silly binders caused an outrage online due to their lack of any meaningful content.

Glenn Beck had this to say about ‘The Epstein Files – Phase 1’: “Who is subverting POTUS? The #Epsteinfiles are a total joke. I know Kash, Pam B and The President. This is not the file. WH tells me that they believe the usual suspects FBI/SDNY has the actual #EpsteinClientList and are refusing to turn it over. THIS IS AN INTERNAL CIVIL WAR if true.” Beck is correct when he says what was released today is a joke, but a joke on who exactly?  If you really wanted to release the Epstein Files, you would have put it on a web site and let the entire country view it at the same time. The actual Epstein Files may indeed come out, but this is not it, this is theater, and the joke’s on…you.

Epstein files released to conservative influencers

FROM NEWS NATION: The Department of Justice released files regarding Jeffrey Epstein to a small group of conservative influencers Thursday. It’s not clear if the files will be released to the press more broadly or if they will be available for the public to access.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order early in his second term ordering the release of the files along with classified documents related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

The group of influencers was seen leaving the White House with binders labeled “The Epstein Files: Phase 1.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi teased the release of the files earlier in the day, saying there were things included in them that would make people sick. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., who is heading a task force on government transparency, said her group was not given the documents and criticized the administration for the limited release.

 “A NY Post story just revealed that the documents will simply be Epstein’s phonebook. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR. GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR instead of leaking old info to press,” she said on X.

Epstein was charged with sex trafficking but died by suicide while in prison. His girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, is serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping Epstein traffic minors.

The new files are said to contain names of Epstein’s associates and flight logs for his private plane. It’s important to note that someone’s name appearing in Epstein’s files is not an indicator that they participated in sex trafficking, and the files included people who only had brief contact with the high-profile financier.

Previously released files included the names of many political and Hollywood figures, including Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, Stephen Hawking, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Jackson, Cate Blanchett, David Copperfield and George Lucas. READ MORE

President Trump has shared an AI-generated video depicting his resort-like vision for the future of Gaza — featuring a gigantic golden statue of the president as well as images of him lounging topless poolside with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In our Wednesday night Bible Study at Bethany Baptist, and on many episodes of our ‘Rightly Dividing’ radio program, we have studied the book of Daniel paying close attention to the connection between the golden statue in chapter 3 and the ‘Image of the Beast’ in Revelation 13. You know what we learned? We learned that anytime someone wants a statue of themselves, in gold no less, it is always a bad thing. Always. Are there no Bible believing Christians anywhere in Trump’s world to tell him the direction he’s being led down now, by Elon Musk, is a bad thing? As it turns out, there are no Bible believers anywhere in Trump’s world, and if there are, they are too afraid to open their mouths. That’s the memo.

If Barack Obama or Joe Biden has posted an AI video of themselves doing the exact same thing that Trump is doing in his video, every “prophet” on YouTube would be doing endless hours of podcasting about the Antichrist being revealed. You know that’s a true statement and you’re lying if you say otherwise. I am not saying that Trump is the Antichrist, because I don’t think that, but come on, man, what’s the deal? This is not politics we are watching, this is a highly-funded and elaborate stage play, it’s theater, and Elon Musk is calling the shots. So the real question we need to ask ourselves is why does Elon Musk want to take control of Gaza? An area that “just happens” to be next to Jerusalem. Yep, you should start there and when you can answer that question, you’ll understand the reason for the golden statue. Elon Musk just may be developing the ultimate app of all time.

FROM THE NY POST: The 30-second clip, shared on Truth Social late Tuesday, opens by showing a blighted Gaza following 15 months of Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists — before asking, “What next?” in red, white and blue text. Scenes of destruction morph into a sunny beach resort, as a lively dance track with the lyrics “Donald Trump will set you free, bringing the life for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear, Trump Gaza is finally here” starts to play.

The computer-generated clip then depicts Elon Musk eating bread dipped in hummus on the beach — before quickly cutting to bearded Hamas terrorists bizarrely dancing in bikinis on the sand. Trump’s vision — which he’s said would make Gaza “the Riviera of the Middle East” — also includes giant gold balloons of his face being held by a child, as well as him dancing in a nightclub with a scantily-clad woman, with ally Musk, the world’s richest man, showering people with cash.

The video also depicts a massive golden “Trump Gaza” building, as well as a larger-than-life golden statue of Trump.

The AI-produced song then boasts “a golden future, a brand new light” before the clip shows Trump and Netanyahu lounging shirtless poolside with cocktails in their hands and the words “Trump Gaza” behind them. Since returning to office, Trump has shared his controversial development plan for the war-torn Gaza Strip, which he says he hopes for the US to “take over” and develop into “the Riviera of the Middle East,” pushing out Gaza’s 2 million inhabitants into neighboring nations.

Under the contentious plan, Palestinians would not be allowed to return to the Hamas-run enclave, Trump previously said.

It was the first time a member of the Trump administration publicly said its goal was extending phase one rather than moving on to phase two, which is meant to outline a permanent end of the war and Israel’s full withdrawal from Gaza in exchange for all remaining living hostages. Phase two will also determine who will rule Gaza, though Netanyahu’s government has halted negotiations for phase two following alleged violations by Hamas, including the group’s failure to release the body of slain mother Shiri Bibas last week. President Donald Trump wants to begin selling gold card visas for $5 million to foreigners and rich immigrants who want to move to America and create jobs.

When I first heard of this yesterday, I was very busy and not really paying attention, and I dismissed the story as satire, parody or as just another attack on Trump by the Left. But to my shock and surprise, it was all too real, Donald Trump really has a plan to sell American citizenship to ‘rich immigrants’. What a sad and tragic idea. Becoming an American citizen used to be worth something, it was something to aspire to, to be worthy of ideals laid out in the ‘great experiment’ of our founding documents. Now it will be sold to the highest bidder like a condo in Trump Tower, those are not the type of Americans I want to see come in. This new ‘golden age’ is rapidly tarnishing in my opinion, and that’s the memo.

I see a lot of movement in Washington since Trump and Musk took over, a lot of “sound and fury” but I am really not sure what it all signifies. Musk has a mandate to ‘dismantle the Deep State’ but of you look closely, it looks like he is dismantling the entire state. Gas prices remain what they were under Biden, as do restaurant bills and grocery prices, there has been little to no movement of the economic needle. People have remained wary, unsure of the future holds, and consumer spending is not rising, a classic sign of no confidence of the American people in the new administration. I voted for Trump for the third time, but this Trump is not the Trump of 2016 who did so much good, stabilized the economy, made the US the world’s largest exporter of oil, and declared Jerusalem to be the capital of Israel. Gold card visas for rich immigrants, is that the plan? The ‘golden age’ of America is barely a month old, and it’s already tarnished and cankered.

Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Commerce, explained that the Trump administration intends to end the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program and “replace it with the Trump gold card.”

The EB-5 program grants investors the opportunity to apply for permanent U.S. residence if they “make the necessary investment in a commercial enterprise in the United States” and intend to generate or sustain 10 permanent full-time jobs. Lutnick described the EB-5 program as “full of nonsense, make-believe and fraud,” adding, “It was a way to get a green card that was low priced.”

Once vetted, gold card holders “can invest in America and we can use that money to reduce our deficit,” he said.

The president projected that the gold card will attract “very high level people” who contribute to job creation. With these cards, “you’re getting big taxpayers, big job producers, and we’ll be able to sell maybe a million of these cards, maybe more than that,” Trump said.

The US currently offers a range of visas for foreigners who want to live and work in the country, each with its own set of requirements and limitations. For those seeking long-term residency, the Green Card application process can be rigorous and time-consuming, often taking years. It’s unclear, however, how long a ‘Gold Card’ would take to obtain and what additional measures – other than financial – would be needed to qualify. It comes after Trump sacked a whopping 2,000 workers and put thousands more on leave in the latest USAID chaos.

Just a day earlier, Tesla tycoon and DOGE leader Elon Musk sent a stern warning to all federal employees saying they must reveal exactly what they “got done last week” or resign. Trump has long vowed to gut what he calls a bloated federal workforce hampering America’s economy.

He set up a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — led by Musk — and tasked him with slashing regulations, cutting spending, and reducing government jobs. Now Trump’s administration said it was placing all but a mere handful of USAID workers worldwide on paid administrative leave and eliminating around 2,000 of those positions in the US. READ MORE
