Forget Pride Month, June is now ‘Bibles Behind Bars Month’ as a request number of requests for King James Bibles in English and Spanish have come in

We received a very encouraging email from Chaplain Todd at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center yesterday. He told me “in the year that I became the chaplain at the detention center, we have seen over 250 inmates trust Christ as Saviour. Your donation of Bibles makes this possible. Every Bible requested by an inmate gives us an opportunity to share the Gospel.  Of course, many of the inmates who need Bibles are already saved, and it is a great help and comfort to them to read the Word of God while incarcerated with the hope of getting their lives back on track and in the will of God. Thank you for the generous donation of Bibles that you have sent. Only eternity will truly tell the amazing impact your donations have made for the kingdom of Christ. God bless!” Amen, what a blessing.

Just this week, we sent off King James Bibles to the High Desert State Prison in Nevada, the Southern Desert Correctional Center also in Nevada, the Sebastian County Detention Center in Arkansas, the River Correctional Facility in Louisiana, and the Adelphoi At-Risk Youth Center in Pennsylvania. In addition to that, we have received requests in the past 48 hours from the Atlanta City Detention Center in Georgia, the Orange County Jail in Florida, and the Santa Clara County Jail in California that we need your help with in order to send them out. This program exists because God raised it up, specifically designed to have God’s people praying and giving to send out His word into the darkest places imaginable. One of the things I was so excited about for the Camp Meeting this year was having in to preach not only people who minister to former inmates, and not only people who work as a chaplain in the jails, but to have a former ‘lifer’ who was incarcerated behind those bars in to preach, to give us the prisoners perspective. To me, it was one of the main highlights of the meeting when Bro. Roy Bell was coming to the end of his message, and said “You get a man whose whole life has just been destroyed, he’s lost everything, you throw him in a little box with nothing but 4 walls, please, dear God, give him a Bible!” I could write about prison ministry for the next hundred years, and not hit the nail on the head like Bro. Roy did when he said that. ‘Please, dear God, give him a Bible!’

“Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” Matthew 25:36 (KJB)

This month, we are in the midst of another huge push to get King James Bibles out to the jails and prisons. We are working on requests from the River Correctional Center, the Adelphoi Center for at-risk youth, the High Desert State Prison and the Southern Desert Correctional Center, and the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center. In all, we are looking to ship out 5,000 Bibles before month’s end, and we need your help to do it. The cost for all these Bibles, just for this month, is $19,950.00, and that’s the wholesale price. I don’t know if we can reach that goal, but I sure want to try. So far, we’ve raised just about half of the funds we need, and the first of the Bibles have already begun to ship yesterday and today. ‘Please, dear God, give them a Bible!’

The River Correctional Center In Louisiana needs King James Bibles and so does the High Desert Prison in Nevada

Chaplain David Fryoux wrote to us the other day and said “Our facility has a max detainee count of 600. Most are housed here from anywhere around 2 weeks to several months. Bibles do not last long here, and we have a constant need of them.” I get excited every time a new jail, prison or detention facility reaches out to tell us they need Bibles, and what an honor it is to be able to meet that need.

“And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.” Revelation 22:10 (KJB)

In addition to sending Bibles out to the River Correctional Center, we are still raising funds for our shipment to the High Desert State Prison in Nevada where Bro. Roy Bell was a prisoner for all those years. They house over 6,000 inmates in two facilities, and we want to send them as many as we can towards reaching that number. With your help, we can do it.

I don’t know of any other nationwide Christian organization that is exclusively sending King James Bibles, New Testaments and scripture portions to jail and prisons throughout America like we are. I’m sure they exist, but they haven’t come across my radar yet.
