All eyes are on Vatican City Tuesday with just over a day to go until the start of the papal conclave of 133 cardinals meeting to elect the 267th pope.

Yesterday, we brought you the story of the man we say just might be the biblical man of sin, Emmanuel Macron, giving a speech at the Grand Lodge of Freemasonry in Paris where he urged freemasons to “fight the good fight” of secularism. Today we bring you news of 133 cardinals who are now ready to elect the next pope, the Roman successor to the original Pontifex Maximus, Julius Caesar. Of course, it has to have the number ’33’ front and center, Freemasons wouldn’t have it any other way. That’s the memo.

World’s eyes turn to Vatican City as papal conclave to elect next pope set to begin

FROM ABC NEWS: It would be “unexpected” if the conclave goes past Friday, Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco, archbishop of Algiers, told ABC News at the Vatican on Tuesday. “If on Friday night, the pope is not elected, it will be that something unexpected has happened,” Vesco said. The 12th and last general congregation was held on Tuesday.

A total of 170 cardinals from around the world have already arrived in Vatican City following the death of Pope Francis, with many of them listening to approximately 20 interventions, or speeches, focusing on themes of major pastoral and ecclesial relevance as well as some time devoted to the question of ethnicism within the church and in society on Monday evening. Migration was also discussed, recognizing migrants as a gift for the Church, but also highlighting the urgency of accompanying them and supporting their faith in contexts of mobility and change.

The ongoing wars around the world were referred on several occasions during Monday evening’s general congregation, with tones often marked by direct testimonies from cardinals who come from the regions affected by conflicts. The discussion subsequently returned to the subject of the path of the Synod on synodality, seen as a concrete expression of an ecclesiology of communion, in which everyone is called to participate, listen and discern together.

Meanwhile, the cardinals also reaffirmed their commitment and responsibility to support the new Pope, called to be a true pastor, a guide who knows how to go beyond the confines of the Catholic Church alone, promoting dialogue and building relationships with other religious and cultural worlds.

In total, 133 cardinals will be voting during this conclave, the most electors ever, with 108 of them being appointed by Pope Francis. Ten are from the United States. READ MORE

Papal Conclave to elect new pope shrouded in secrecy

The College of Cardinals is meeting to select the new pope. The event is called the “conclave,” or in latin, con clave, which translates to “with key.” The process to decide who will hold that key to the church is locked behind closed doors, veiled in secrecy.

Emmanuel Macron spoke to Freemasons saying ‘Liberty and secularism are inseparable. Secular France is the natural daughter of the Republic.’

Emmanuel Macron made French history today by becoming the first president of the Republic of France to visit the 32,000 member strong French Lodge of Freemasonry where he gave a speech calling for Freemasons to help keep France a ‘secular Republic’. Macron gave rousing support to the Grand Lodge members assembled there, telling them that they are a noble and necessary force who stand against baseless conspiracy theories. He also thanked Freemasons for their tireless support of the Euthanasia Bill France will vote for on May 27th. Of course he did.

Emmanuel Macron speaks to Freemasons calling for the defense of secularism against the “trap of identity-based interpretation”

FROM BFMTV: Just months before the 120th anniversary of the 1905 law on the separation of Church and State, Emmanuel Macron called on Freemasons on Monday, May 5, to be the “watchdogs” of secularism in the face of the “trap of identity-based interpretation.”

“I ask you to be ambassadors of secularism,” to demonstrate that “this is not a law of exclusion but of assembly,” to “continually repeat that the only word that fits secularism is that of freedom,” declared the Head of State during a speech before the Freemasons of the Grand Lodge of France.

“Secular France is the natural daughter of the Republic. Let us beware of the trap being prepared by those who would like to interpret the 1905 law in terms of identity under the pretext of secularizing society, with the sole aim of attacking religions and beliefs, particularly in the name of their alleged incompatibility with the values ​​of the Republic,” Emmanuel Macron insisted.

The Israel Air Force is undertaking a joint counter-strike of the Houthis in Yemen along with the US night following the ballistic missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Just yesterday, we published an article asking the question can Israel either alone or with help from the United States, defeat the Houthis in Yemen. Today we report to you that a blistering offensive against the Houthis was just launched by both Israel and the US, dropping over 50 massive bombs on shipping ports and centers of air travel. No doubt about it, an impressive display of airpower. But the question remains, is that enough to stop the Houthis from further attacks against Israel? The uncomplicated short answer is no.

Watch any decent documentary on WWII and pay close attention to the bombing campaigns launched in the Pacific against the Japanese. On some of those islands, the US bombed them for 3 months straight before sending in the Marines, and the island looked like all traces of life were gone. Not so. To their shock, the Marines found that tens of thousands of Japanese remained quite alive and quite capable of unleashing deadly attacks which killed Marines in the thousands before gaining control. Watching the Israel and US counter-strikes on Houthis happening now is impressive but it will do very little to stop the Houthis from further attacks against the Jews.

Israel, US joint counterstriking Houthis in Yemen following Ben-Gurion Airport hit

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: Foreign reports are describing close to a dozen attack sites. This is the sixth Israeli air strike on the Houthis since July 2024, following over 400 attacks by the Iranian proxy on Israel over the course of the war. Just before 9:00 p.m., the IDF formally acknowledged attacking the Houthis around the Hodeidah seaport in Yemen, approximately 2,000 kilometers away.

Targets included the Hodeidah seaport, which the IDF noted serves as a major source of income for the Houthi regime. “The Hodeidah seaport is used to transfer Iranian weapons, equipment for military needs, and other terrorist needs.” In addition, the military said, the Bajil concrete factory east of the city of Hodeidah was attacked, which serves as an important economic resource for the Houthi terrorist regime and is used to build tunnels and military infrastructure.”

Next, the IDF stated, “The Houthi terrorist regime has been operating for the past year and a half under Iranian direction and funding in order to harm Israel and its allies, undermine the regional order, and disrupt global freedom of navigation. The IDF is determined to continue to act and strike forcefully at anyone who poses a threat to the residents and citizens of the State of Israel, and at whatever distance is required.”

Israel’s last counterstrike against the Houthis was on January 11, before US President Donald Trump took office. Since then, Israel has hoped that over 1,000 airstrikes by the US under Trump would be sufficient to stop Houthi attacks on Israel without Jerusalem getting directly involved. However, the Houthis’ successful hit near Ben Gurion shook up that calculation.

On January 11, Israel’s air force, in coordination with the United States and Britain, conducted what were the largest coordinated airstrikes of the war against the Houthis in Yemen up until that time, targeting a Houthi power station and two ports used by the Iran-backed group. The targets Israel struck on January 11 included military infrastructure sites at Hezyaz power station, and military infrastructure in the Hodeidah and Ras Issa ports on the Western coast.

The coalition was expected to attack weapons facilities, control and command bases, and underground places, while Israel strikes the Houthis’ economic facilities, which have military and civilian use, such as ports, airports, power plants, etc. READ MORE
