NEW YORK (AP) — A superstorm that sent water rushing onto city streets has left a large swath of the lower part of Manhattan without power. Consolidated Edison spokesman Chris Olert said Monday evening that the power was out for most of Manhattan south of 26th Street.

It’s light’s out for the Big Apple…

On the east side, the power outage extended from 29th Street south. There were some scattered areas that still had electricity. Olert said the damage stemmed from flooding and the probable loss of a transmission feeder.

The power outage was separate from a planned power cut that Con Ed did in certain lower Manhattan neighborhoods to protect underwater systems from flood damage. Olert said there were 250,000 customers without power in Manhattan. A customer represents a single meter, so the number of people actually affected is likely higher.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

Superstorm Sandy zeroed in on New York’s waterfront with fierce rain and winds that shuttered most of the nation’s largest city Monday, darkened the financial district and left a huge crane hanging off a luxury high-rise.

The threat of a record 13-foot storm surge inundating downtown Manhattan prompted officials to close the mass transit system and cut power pre-emptively to parts of downtown Manhattan to avoid damage from incoming seawater.

“The worst of it is about to hit,” Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday evening before Sandy, stripped of its hurricane status but just as strong and dangerous, made landfall in southern New Jersey.

Water began lapping over the lower Manhattan seawall earlier, about ankle-deep, as officials anxiously awaited high tide. Water began pooling in rail yards and on highways near the Hudson River waterfront on Manhattan’s far west side.

On coastal Long Island, floodwaters swamped cars, downed trees and put neighborhoods under water as beachfronts and fishing villages bore the brunt of the storm. A police car was lost rescuing 14 people from the popular resort Fire Island.

The storm had only killed one New Yorker by Monday night, a man who died when a tree fell on his home in the Flushing section of Queens.

The collapsed crane suspended over midtown caused the evacuation of hundreds from a posh hotel and other buildings. Inspectors were climbing 74 flights of stairs to examine it. Meteorologists said the winds could have been close to 95 mph at the top of the $1.5 billion building when the crane tipped.

The facade of a four-story Manhattan building in the Chelsea neighborhood crumbled and collapsed suddenly, leaving the lights, couches, cabinets and desks inside visible from the street. No one was hurt, although some of the falling debris hit a car.

The city shut its subways, schools, stock exchanges, Broadway theaters and closed several bridges and tunnels throughout the day as the weather worsened. Late Monday, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey closed LaGuardia Airport, although major carriers had cancelled all their flights hours earlier.

Consolidated Edison cut power pre-emptively to parts of Manhattan bordered by the Brooklyn Bridge and the East River, trying to lessen damage to underground equipment from the massive storm, spokesman Chris Olert said. About 6,500 customers lost power, he said; the utility reported more than 65,000 outages from the storm in the city and suburban Westchester County.

Earlier, some New Yorkers defiantly soldiered on, trying to salvage normal routines and refusing to evacuate, as the mayor ordered 375,000 in low-lying areas to do.

Mark Vial pushed a stroller holding his 2-year-old daughter Maziyar toward his apartment building in Battery Park City, an area that was ordered evacuated. “We’re high up enough, so I’m not worried about flooding,” said Via, 35. “There’s plenty of food. We’ll be OK.

But by early evening, the water in New York Harbor was rising and winds sent a trash can blowing down the street in Battery Park City. Brian Damianakes, 47, took shelter in an ATM vestibule.

“I decided to go for a run about five minutes ago but now I’m thinking maybe not,” he said. “Now it’s really turning into something.”

On New York’s Long Island, floodwaters had begun to deluge some low-lying towns and nearly 150,000 customers had lost power. Cars floated along the streets of Long Beach and flooding consumed several blocks south of the bay, residents said.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, holding a news conference on Long Island where the lights flickered and his mike went in and out, said most of the National Guards deployed to the New York City area would go to Long Island.

“Long Island has become more and more vulnerable and the primary area of our concentration,” he said.

In the fishing village of Greenport, Sean Seal piled dirt and sandbags onto the alleyway behind his collectibles store where the water was steadily creeping up the street toward his front door. He only opened the shop about two months ago.

“We put everything up. Up on tables, up on shelves, as far as we could,” he said. “It’s gonna be devastating. We’ll lose a lot of stuff.”

Anoush Vargas drove with her husband, Michael to the famed Jones Beach Monday morning, only to find it covered by water.

“We have no more beach. It’s gone,” she said, shaking her head as she watched the waves go under the boardwalk.

The center the storm, a combination of Sandy, a wintry system from the West and cold air streaming from the Arctic, was expected to hit the city under a full moon later Monday night. Surging waters of between 6 and 11 feet could flood subway tunnels, knock out the underground network of power, phone and high-speed Internet lines that are the lifeblood of America’s financial capital.

Waters rose, but hadn’t breached the seawall by early Monday evening. Despite the dire forecasts, many chose to embrace what was coming.

“It’s seems like this one’s for real,” Grvymala said of the coming storm.

Tanja Stewart and her 7-year-old son, Finn, came from their home in Manhattan’s TriBeCa neighborhood to admire the white caps on the Hudson, Finn wearing a pair of binoculars around his neck. “I really wanted to see some big waves,” he said.

Nearby, Keith Reilly climbed up on a rail next to the rising waters of New York Harbor so his friend Eli Rowe could snap a photo of him in an Irish soccer jersey with the Statue of Liberty in the background.

“This is not so bad right now,” said the 25-year-old Reilly. “We’ll see later.”

And New Yorkers Andrew Rotz and Alex Grvymala, two young investment bankers on the Battery, wearing shorts and t-shirts, were jogging all over Lower Manhattan. Rotz said they wanted to blow off some energy before the storm hit. source – AP

The BBC Wants You To Know That Hurricane Milton Is Not The Product Of Geoengineering And That HAARP Has Nothing To Do With Wild Weather Patterns

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

The BBC says false claims suggesting that Hurricane Milton was ‘geoengineered’ and that the weather in Florida is being ‘manipulated’ have been spreading on social media. Imagine that.

As you read this, Hurricane Milton is preparing to come ashore on the west coast of Florida, two weeks after Hurricane Helene, and right behind him are Tropical Storms Nadine and Leslie. Over 17 tornadoes have already touched down, each with spectacular bursts of lightning, as the storm surges begins to flood downtown streets. The BBC wants you to know that none of this has anything to do with HAARP, DARPA, cloud seeding or geoengineers that we discussed on Monday’s Podcast. Instead it’s all caused by cow farts, red meat consumption, Trump voters, carbon footprints, gas stoves, an aversion to Greta Thunberg, and refusal to purchase EVs. Uh-huh. Let’s take a close look at the BBC and see what they’re all about, because the BBC is lying to you.

But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.” Job 13:4 (KJB)

The BBC is a cesspool of Far Left Liberalism, and a fount of lies and deceit, pushing the New World Order agenda at every turn. Back in 2020, BBC World Service radio program Heart and Soul aired a program titled “Black Jesus” on December 18, in which presenter Robert Beckford claimed that Jesus was a “Palestinian,” despite the term only coming into use some 100 years after the crucifixion. Then there was the story of Patricia Chandler in Austin, Texas, who volunteered to receive the new COVID-1984 vaccine from the joint partnership between Pfizer and BioNTech in Mainz, Germany. Shortly after participating in the Pfizer trials, Chandler developed oozing, pus-filled sore on the bottoms of both feet, and we showed you the photos. After we broke that story, the BBC called us ‘an apocalypse-themed evangelical Christian site that promotes conspiracy theories about vaccines, the Covid-19 pandemic and the US election.’ Now the BBC wants to assure you that there is no way Hurricane Milton was engineered and that our weather patterns are not being manipulated. That can only mean one thing, they absolutely are.

Please take a moment to pray for us, and all Floridians in the path of Hurricane Milton, we sure do need it. Man-made or not, he’s an intimidating force. Thank you!

No, Hurricane Milton was not ‘engineered’ says the BBC

FROM THE BBC: There is no technology that allows humans to create and control hurricanes. But on platforms like X and TikTok, posts alleging – without evidence – that the US government is secretly controlling the weather have been viewed millions of times. Many were published by accounts known for spreading conspiracy theories, as well as misinformation about Covid-19 or vaccines.

These users shared the belief that Hurricane Milton, one of the strongest storms in recent US history, was purposefully created by shadowy forces at the heart of US politics. But they proposed several different explanations for how that was supposedly done.

Some users claimed weather manipulation techniques like cloud seeding are to blame.

Cloud seeding involves manipulating existing clouds to try to produce more rain, for example in countries with a dry climate. But the south-east of the US had already been hit by huge amounts of rainfall from Hurricane Helene, which triggered deadly flooding in several states just two weeks ago.

“When we cloud seed, it is because we do not have enough aerosols or water vapor within the atmosphere to see condensation occur, so we try and force it through cloud seeding,” says Jill Trepanier, an expert in extreme weather phenomena from Louisiana State University. “Over the western Gulf of Mexico and the Bay of Campeche, that is not a problem. The Earth will make a hurricane all on its own.”

Other users blamed “geoengineering” instead – a wide array of methods to manipulate the environment with a view to reducing the effects of climate change. But there are no tools that would allow humans to create or control storms like this one.

“There is no possibility using current knowledge and technology to use geoengineering to modify hurricanes,” says Suzana Camargo from the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University. READ MORE

CATEGORY 6?? Hurricane Milton Is Rapidly Heading For The Maximum Established Limits As Wind Gusts Have Already Hit 200+ Mile Per Hour

Hurricane Milton threatens to reach maximum limits, sparking calls for a new Category 6 designation for hurricanes, is HAARP to blame for this?

Late last night, Hurricane Milton reached a fat Category 5 with winds up to 200 miles per hour as it churned in the Gulf of Mexico. This morning, Milton has relaxed somewhat and has gone back down to being a Category 4, but this is a temporary situation. The reason for this is something called eyewall replacement where the eyewall gets really small, a weakening, but then is replaced by an eye much larger and stronger. That’s where the talk for a Category 6 is coming from, pray that doesn’t happen.

“For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.” Isaiah 25:4 (KJB)

There is a battle being waged in the air right now, and no, I am not only talking about Milton. There is a battle in the air as this lost world prepares itself to receive the coming Antichrist, you can feel it everywhere you go, and see it everywhere you look. Think about it. In 2024, open talk around the dinner table with intelligent, rational people is less about news, sports and classifieds, and more about UFOs, weather manipulation, the New World Order, DARPA, out of control AI and all the rest. I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine, and he says it’s like we’ve watched a new door open and we’re in the process of going through it. I agree. Christian, the door that’s opening is the door to the coming 7-year kingdom of Antichrist, and the door that’s closing is the Church Age. Flight #777 now boarding. If you are planning on getting something done for the Lord, do it now. That’s the memo.

Milton threatens to reach max limits, sparking calls for a new Category 6 designation for hurricanes

FROM THE NY POST: Hurricane Milton is threatening to reach known maximum limits with wind gusts already topping 200 miles per hour — leading to calls for a new Category 6 designation for such a historic superstorm.

“This is nothing short of astronomical,” Florida meteorologist Noah Bergren said late Monday as Milton reached sustained winds of 180 mph and “gusts 200+ mph.”

“I am at a loss for words to meteorologically describe to you the storm’s small eye and intensity,” he marveled. “This hurricane is nearing the mathematical limit of what Earth’s atmosphere over this ocean water can produce.”

After being a monster Category 5 storm for much of Monday, Milton was downgraded early Tuesday to a Category 4 with maximum sustained winds of 155 mph — just two mph below a Category 5 — but is expected to increase again as it churns towards Florida’s gulf coast, where it is expected to have a devastating impact.

After forming in the Gulf of Mexico, Milton rapidly accelerated from a tropical storm with 60-mph winds Sunday morning to a deadly, 180-mph, Category 5 hurricane by Monday — an incredible trebling of power in only 36 hours.

If the hurricane reaches winds of 192 mph, it will surpass a rare threshold that just five storms have reached since 1980, USA Today reported. Its exceptional intensity has prompted calls from some meteorologists to expand the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale to include a new sixth category for hurricanes. While no such official category exists, professor Michael E. Mann tweeted that “Milton might have actually breached the 192 mph ‘cat 6′ cutoff.” READ MORE

Hurricane Milton Now A Category 5 As It Hits 180 Miles Per Hour, Gov. DeSantis Orders Mandatory Evacuations In Areas To Be Hardest Hit On Florida’s West Coast

Florida’s storm-battered Gulf Coast raced against a Category 5 hurricane Monday as workers sprinted to pick up heaps of appliances and other street debris left over from Helene two weeks ago and highways were clogged with people fleeing ahead of the storm.

On the Podcast today, we gave you a 2-hour master class in how ‘man made Climate Change’ is actually weather modification as performed through programs like HAARP and their cloud seeding efforts. If you haven’t listened to that program, you really should. Then you will really understand what climate change is all about, and who it is that is doing the changing.

“And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” Matthew 8:26 (KJB)

In the meantime, Hurricane Milton is a force to be reckoned with, rapidly becoming a Category 5 hurricane with winds between 180-200 miles per hour. Please pray for the people on the west coast of Florida, as they will be hit the hardest. Say a little prayer for us, also, here in Central Florida. The Milton will go pretty close to straight over our heads as he works his away across the state.

Hurricane Milton is a Category 5. Florida orders evacuations and scrambles to clear Helene’s debris

FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS: The center of Hurricane Milton could come ashore Wednesday in the Tampa Bay region, which has not endured a direct hit by a major hurricane in more than a century. Scientists expect the system to weaken slightly before landfall, though it could retain hurricane strength as it churns across central Florida toward the Atlantic Ocean. That would largely spare other states ravaged by Helene, which killed at least 230 people on its path from Florida to the Carolinas.

“This is the real deal here with Milton,” Tampa Mayor Jane Castor told a news conference. “If you want to take on Mother Nature, she wins 100% of the time.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Monday that it was imperative for debris from Helene to be cleared ahead of Milton’s arrival so the pieces cannot become projectiles. As evacuation orders were issued, forecasters warned of a possible 8- to 12-foot storm surge (2.4 to 3.6 meters) in Tampa Bay. That’s the highest ever predicted for the region and nearly double the levels reached two weeks ago during Helene, said National Hurricane Center spokeswoman Maria Torres.

The storm could also bring widespread flooding. Five to 10 inches (13 to 25 centimeters) of rain was forecast for mainland Florida and the Keys, with as much as 15 inches (38 centimeters) expected in some places. The Tampa metro area has a population of more than 3.3 million people.

“It’s a huge population. It’s very exposed, very inexperienced, and that’s a losing proposition,” Massachusetts Institute of Technology meteorology professor Kerry Emanuel said. “I always thought Tampa would be the city to worry about most.”

Much of Florida’s west coast was under hurricane and storm surge warnings. A hurricane warning was also issued for parts of Mexico’s Yucatan state, which expected to get sideswiped. Milton’s wind speed increased by 92 mph (148 kph) in 24 hours — a pace that trails only those of Hurricane Wilma in 2005 and Hurricane Felix in 2007. One reason Milton strengthened so rapidly is its small “pinhole eye,” just like Wilma’s, said Colorado State University hurricane researcher Phil Klotzbach. The storm will likely go through what’s called an eye wall replacement cycle, a natural process that forms a new eye and expands the storm in size but weakens its wind speeds, Klotzbach said.

The Gulf of Mexico is unusually warm right now, so “the fuel is just there,” and Milton probably went over an extra-warm eddy that helped goose it further, said University of Albany hurricane scientist Kristen Corbosiero. The last hurricane to be a Category 5 at landfall in the mainland U.S. was Michael in 2018. READ MORE
