This 1,500 bed correctional facility in North Carolina has an immediate need for King James Bibles, and Bibles Behind Bars is there to help them

Maury Correctional Institution is a close and medium security prison for adult males near Hookerton. Opened in April 2006, Maury became the fourth of six 1,000-bed facilities. A 504-bed medium-custody unit was added after the initial prison opened. Earlier this week, Chaplain Hackett who ministers there reached out via email to tell us of their urgent need for Bibles.

“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40 (KJB)

Chaplain Hackett wrote and told us “Our facility houses approximately 1,500 offenders. We have a 30% turnover (transfers or and releases). We are requesting 100 Bibles to assist with this turnover.” We are also sending them 30 copies of “What Must I Do To Be Saved?” to assist them in their soul winning efforts. The Bibles Behind Bars family of chaplains, pastors and personal workers continues to grow at an astonishing rate, with nearly 500 inmates so far that we know of having heard and believed the gospel!

Christian, we live in a rapidly-darkening world, one that cares little about the forgotten men and women locked up behind bars. But the LORD cares about them, and He uses people like me and you to reach out and give them His preserved word. When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations.
