Sweetwater County Detention is a gleaming, modern structure with many modern accoutrements, but they very much need King James Bibles.

Built in 2005, Sweetwater County Detention Center is a state-of-the-art facility housing all persons arrested or incarcerated in Sweetwater County as well as those inmates-in-transit from across the state, and sometimes from across the country. The Sweetwater facility features a maximum prisoner capacity of over 200 inmates and is one of only four county facilities across the state with a separate juvenile holding facility, which is legally required to house juvenile inmates. Chaplain Lison has reached out to us, requesting Bibles for their inmates. Many of them are what’s known as ‘inmates in transit’, and soon the word of God will be there waiting for them when they arrive.

“But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew 13:23 (KJB)

What is that, you ask? The word of God. Chaplain Lison wants to know if we can help them out, we sure can. So far this year we have restocked 21 jails and prisons from south Florida all the way up to Alaska with King James Bibles, New Testaments, scripture portions, with many of these facilities receiving our brand-new ‘NTEB Book Box’ with books designed to assist the chaplains and pastors in their daily soul winning and discipleship activates. New requests for King James Bibles, books, New Testaments, scripture portions and gospel tracts come in on a daily basis, come help us meet this need!

King James Bibles have been going out in abundance in the first quarter of 2025, reaching 19 different jails and prisons in states from south Florida the way up to Alaska by the Russian border. In addition to thousands of Bibles, we also started the brand-new NTEB Book Box which sends a dozen copies each of ‘Justified Outlaw’, ‘What Must I Do To Be Saved?’ and the ‘Biblical Guide To Soulwinning’, sent to the chaplains to hand out and use at their discretion. These books are a huge help in ministering to the inmates prior to salvation, and a great discipleship tool for after a soul gets saved.

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 (KJB)

Something else we started doing in 2025 is fulfilling requests for a single Bible sent to a specific inmate, usually one that comes from a burdened mother, father or family friend of the prisoner. We never had much success with doing that in the past as one-off Bibles usually got sent back, but in 2025 all of the single Bibles sent out reached their targets. We have more than a few tear-stained ‘thank you’ letters on our desk that will attest to that fact, letters that’ll break your heart as you read them.

Bibles Behind Bars is setting the captives free while they are still inside their cell and serving out their sentence.

What a week this has been for the NTEB Free Bible Program and Bibles Behind Bars sending out thousands of King James Bibles and hundreds of copies of books to teach the readers thereof about the doctrines of salvation, soul winning, and inspiring testimony of what God can do for an inmate behind bars. In addition to that, Chaplain Larry from the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Department in Dalton, Georgia, asks if we can supply all their inmates with their own copy of a King James Bible. Lord willing, we sure can.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJB)

Chaplain Larry writes “I would like, if possible, to get enough to give each inmate one. We have right at 423 in here now. Just whatever you can spare would be great. We will need them to be the King James Version and soft backs, (Jail Policy) We are all volunteers and retired. I will get with all the volunteers and try to send you a donation also, thank you and may God continue to bless you and your Ministry.“ What a blessing, talk about ending the week on a high note, praise the Lord! I would love to send him 500 Bibles for the work they are doing there, with your help.

DO you remember when we told you about Daniel, an inmate at the Snake River Correctional Institution, whose mom had requested a Ruckman Reference Bible be sent to him? She called us today, her voice overflowing with emotion and gratitude, to tell us that he received the Bible, that it is such a blessing to him and that he hurries back to his cell after his prison work shift is over so he can spend time in God’s preserved word. You know what that is? That’s setting the captives free while they are still inside their cell and serving out their sentence. That’s why we put so much focus on Bibles Behind Bars and the Free Bible Program, it sets people free. All of this is possible because of your prayers and financial support of this ministry.
