Israel tonight stands on the cups of a regional war with Iran that many world leaders fear could become an all-out global conflict, is this the beginning of sorrows?

As I write this, it is 3 minutes after midnight in Israel on October 7th, officially one year since the start of the war with Hamas that began exactly 365 days ago. In that time, Israel has taken on Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and a host of other proxies of Iran. Any moment now, Israel will launch a strike on Iran directly, with a prospect so terrifying that world leaders at this very moment are scrambling to sort it all out. Is this just another war and rumours of wars, or is Israel in an unbreakable chain of events that end in the time of Jacob’s trouble? That’s the memo.

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:6-8 (KJB)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, Hamas attacked Israel in a stunning opening round on October 7th, 2023, resulting in the largest single-day slaughter of Jews since Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. Israel quickly regrouped and jumped in the fray, with a slow, slogging ground war in Gaza. Watching Israel struggle to gain their footing had many Middle East watchers wondering if the Jews had lost their propensity for biblical battle victories like the 1948 War of Independence and the 6 Day War. Many feared Israel had ‘lost it’. Flash-forward to July 31st of 2024, the IDF stunningly assassinates Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh asleep in his bed in Iran. Then on September 17th we saw the exploding pagers, followed by the exploding walkie-talkies that decimate Hezbollah leadership. On September 27th, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is blown to pieces in his own headquarters by bunker busting bombs. Overnight, Israel goes from mediocre to astonishing, so much so that it could only be the hand of the LORD doing it. And now? At any moment, perhaps during this live Bible study, Israel is going to launch an airstrike on Iran with the intent of taking out either their oil refineries, nuclear facilities, or both. Some through the waters, some through the flood, some through the fire but all through the blood is the theme of my Sunday Service message today

My text today is found in Isaiah 43:2 in your King James Bibles, and in that verse we see a fantastic doctrinal promise to the Jews and the nation of Israel. It does not apply to us here in the Church Age practically, but from a spiritual perspective it becomes a wonderful promise for Christians as well. This is why rightly dividing the scriptures as Paul commands is so very important.

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Isaiah 43:2 (KJB)

The prophet Isaiah is telling us about the time we read about in Revelation 12, where the Jews and Israel will be kept safe from the end times flood and fire the Bible tells us will be present in that day. Isaiah is giving us a literal description of actual Jews protected from literal flood waters and fires. So how can that, a promise made to the Jews, apply to us Christians at the end of the Church Age? This my message, preached live from Bethany Baptist Church in Saint Augustine, Florida.

Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said no country would accept rocket barrages on its citizens, and neither will Israel, as Emmanuel Macron calls for an arms embargo

Welcome to the Jewish New Year, and welcome to the start of a regional war with Iran. Things really got rolling to a boiling point just hours ago as French president Emmanuel Macron called for an arms embargo on Israel, resulting in a scathing response from the Jewish leader. Netanyahu is having none of it, but what he is having is a massive military reply to the 200+ ballistic missiles sent over by Iran, with many of them landing on Israel. The powder keg is full, the match has been lit, it’s showtime.

Things are changing so fast in the Middle East right now, that by the time you read this, this article may already be out of date. Having a King James Bible handy will serve as a nice buffer to keep you up to speed. Is this just a regional war, or are the words of the prophets leaping off the pages right now? I will leave you to make that determination for yourself, but before this weekend is over, war will have begun.

Netanyahu says Israel has a ‘duty and right’ to hit back at Iran over missile attack as Macron calls for arms embargo

FROM THE TIMES OF ISRAEL: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday repeated his promise to strike back against Iran for its ballistic missile attack on Israel earlier in the week, saying it is a right any other country would have. Speaking from the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu said: “No country in the world would accept such an attack on its cities and citizens, and Israel won’t either.

“Israel has the duty and the right to defend itself and respond to these attacks — and it will do so.”

The Israel Defense Forces said earlier Saturday the response would be “serious and significant.” Iran’s rocket barrage, the second such attack this year, came amid the war against terror groups Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Iran said it fired the missiles into Israel in response to attacks that killed leaders of Hezbollah, Hamas and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. It referenced Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Revolutionary Guard Gen. Abbas Nilforoushan, both killed in an Israeli airstrike last week in Beirut. It also mentioned Ismail Haniyeh, the former leader of Hamas who was assassinated in Tehran in July in an attack widely attributed to Israel.
