Demas fell in love with this present world, and was knocked out of the game for the Lord Jesus. Don’t let this happen to you!

Demas was a faithful servant of the Lord and a fellowlabourer with the apostle Paul for years, right up to the moment where he wasn’t any more. What happened? Demas fell in love with this present world, and was knocked out of the game for the Lord Jesus. Don’t let this happen to you! Preached live this morning at Bethany Baptist Church in Saint Augustine, Florida.

“For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.” 2 Timothy 4:10 (KJB)

Study Notes For This Sunday Service

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.” Colossians 4:12-14 (KJB)

“There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus; Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.” Philemon 1:23,24 (KJB)

“For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.” 2 Timothy 4:10 (KJB)

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17 (KJB)

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.” 1 Corinthians 10:31-33 (KJB)

“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” Titus 2:12 (KJB)

“Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:” Galatians 1:4 (KJB)

Now The End Begins is your front line defense against the rising tide of darkness in the last Days before the Rapture of the Church

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.

But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Please pray for our efforts, and if the Lord leads you to donate, be as generous as possible. The war is REAL, the battle HOT and the time is SHORTTO THE FIGHT!!!

NTEB SUNDAY SERVICE: Write, For These Words Are True And Faithful

Published

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

The prophetic words of God are indeed true and faithful, and he requires us to be watching and waiting for them to come to pass. Are you?

In my message today, I want to talk about how God gave words to his prophets and apostles to prepare us for the time we are living in right now. This is not so much a message on the faithfulness of God’s words in general, but on the importance of discerning the times we are living in at this exact moment here in the 21st century. God’s words are always right on time, true and faithful. Preached live this morning at Bethany Baptist Church in Saint Augustine, Florida.

“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:5 (KJB)

Study Notes For This Sunday Service

“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2,3 (KJB)

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.” Jeremiah 30:1-4 (KJB)

Daniel is a prophet who speaks the fresh words of the living God, and yet, Daniel is not above doing some old-fashioned Bible study to get the clue about the Babylonian captivity he finds himself in.

“In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.” Daniel 9:2 (KJB)

Daniel is given the ‘key of understanding’ about his time in Babylon from Jeremiah, and after he wraps his head around that, God gives Daniel prophecy for the ‘latter days’. The book of Daniel is the “sister book” to the book of Revelation as you see here:

“Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.” Daniel 10:5,6 (KJB)

Compare with:

“His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.” Revelation 1:14-16 (KJB)

Daniel is given words to be put into a book, and so is John.

Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.” Daniel 10:14,15 (KJB)

Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;” Revelation 1:19 (KJB)

Daniel is told to close his book, but in John’s book he is given a book to open.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel 12:4 (KJB)

“And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?” Revelation 5:2 (KJB)

THE NTEB SUNDAY SERVICE: A Young Lad With 5 Loaves And 2 Fishes Shows Us The Importance Of Showing Up

Published

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

The lad with the 5 loaves and 2 fishes did something so amazing that Jesus honored it, what did the lad do? He showed up!

In any dispensation, in fact in all dispensations, we see a biblical principle of the importance of simply showing up to wait upon the Lord. Anyone can do it, age, physical fitness or economic status have no bearing on showing up. One of the greatest miracles in the Bible, and they are all great, aren’t they, is the miracle of the 5 loaves and 2 fishes.

There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” John 6:9 (KJB)

You will notice that this lad is not named, the accounts in Matthew 14 and Mark 6 don’t even tell you there was a lad! He is anonymous – BUT – the work he does for the Lord Jesus, his tiny, little step of faith, redounds to his credit for all eternity!

Study Notes For This Sunday Service

“For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:15-18 (KJB)

“Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.” 2 Corinthians 5:9 (KJB)

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJB)

3 Things The Lad Did That You Can Do, Too:

  • The Lad wanted to see and hear Jesus for himself, so he made a plan.
  • The Lad didn’t want to show up empty-handed, so he prepared what he had available to him, and it wasn’t much.
  • The Lad showed up, the Lord blessed his efforts, and caused the people to prosper mightily, so much so there was a storehouse left over.

THE NTEB SUNDAY SERVICE: Some Through The Waters, Some Through The Flood, Some Through The Fire But All Through The Blood

Published

on

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

Some through the waters, some through the flood, some through the fire but all through the blood is the theme of my Sunday Service message today

My text today is found in Isaiah 43:2 in your King James Bibles, and in that verse we see a fantastic doctrinal promise to the Jews and the nation of Israel. It does not apply to us here in the Church Age practically, but from a spiritual perspective it becomes a wonderful promise for Christians as well. This is why rightly dividing the scriptures as Paul commands is so very important.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Isaiah 43:2 (KJB)

The prophet Isaiah is telling us about the time we read about in Revelation 12, where the Jews and Israel will be kept safe from the end times flood and fire the Bible tells us will be present in that day. Isaiah is giving us a literal description of actual Jews protected from literal flood waters and fires. So how can that, a promise made to the Jews, apply to us Christians at the end of the Church Age? This my message, preached live from Bethany Baptist Church in Saint Augustine, Florida.

Study Notes For This Sunday Service

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” 2 Corinthians 5:1 (KJB)

“Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.” Habakkuk 1:5 (KJB)

The following quotes and notations are taken from Foxe’s Book of Martyrs:

  • “At Buckingham, Thomas Bainard, and James Moreton, the one for reading the Lord’s prayer in English, and the other for reading St. James’ epistles in English, were both condemned and burnt alive.”
  • “Mr. Saunders then slowly moved towards the fire, sank to the earth and prayed; he then rose up, embraced the stake, and frequently said, “Welcome, thou cross of Christ! welcome everlasting life!” Fire was then put to the wood, and, he was overwhelmed by the dreadful flames, and sweetly slept in the Lord Jesus.”
  • Hugh Latimer said “Be of good comfort, Mr. Ridley, and play the man: We shall this day light such a candle, by God’s grace, in England, as I trust never shall be put out.”
  • William Tyndale Martyred October 6, 1536 – At last, After much reasoning, when no reason would serve, although he deserved no death, he was condemned by virtue of the Emperor Decree , made in the Assembly at Augsburgh and upon the same brought forth to the place of Execution, was there tied to the Stake, and then strangled first by the Hangman, and afterwards with fire consumed in the morning, at the Town of Filford, A.D. 1536; crying thus at the stake with a fervent zeal, and a loud voice, “Lord open the king of England’s eyes.”
